Guanyin Bodhisattva's Induction:Guanyin Bodhisattva's Induction Deeds

If you recite the name of Guanyin, you will get a big response if you feel big, and a small response if you feel small, there is no reason why you should not.

One, the obvious sense of obvious response: such as the present life sincerely salute, that is, the protection of the blessing, in case of bad luck, in case of difficulties into good fortune, and karma elimination of obstacles, blessing increase wisdom.

The second is the meditative response: if one has practised the act of praying with all sincerity in one's past lives, and though one has not yet practised it in this life, one is blessed with the blessing of goodness, and unknowingly one's misfortune is extinguished and blessing comes. If one does not have the intention to change one's mind to a good one, and wishes to chant the holy name of Guanyin to achieve one's evil deeds, one will not be rewarded and will not be able to escape the consequences of evil. Our world is currently plagued by unpredictable natural and man-made disasters, and nuclear destruction is particularly horrific. The Avatamsaka Sutra says: 'The five foul beings do not practise the ten good deeds, but create evil karma, kill, steal, commit adultery, speak with delusion, speak with evil tongues, have greed and anger, are unfilial to their parents, do not respect the Three Jewels, and are in conflict with each other, and see each other as abusive.' As one is called by one's own bad karma, one's good karma can be turned around. We urge all our compatriots in China and abroad to have a great heart to change their evil deeds for the benefit of others, and to sincerely recite the holy names of Namo Amitabha Buddha and Namo Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, in order to eliminate their bad karma. If there is a nuclear attack, a car, a boat or an aeroplane, or if there is a disaster of water, fire, drought or wind, or if there is injustice in prison, or if there is illness or evil, or if there is a difficult birth or a bloodbath, or any other kind of disaster, please recite the holy name of Guanyin and you will be rescued and turned into a peaceful person. They will be able to return to the Saha world, and to spread all sentient beings to be born in the West and to attain Buddhahood together. (Compiled by Linyuan Buddhist Church)

◎Yu Zhi, a resident of Jun Gongliao, Beitun District, Taichung City. He joined the Maitreya class of the Lotus Society in the 42nd year of the Republic of China and chanted the Buddha and the holy name of Guanyin in the morning and evening. He was a four year old brother who was playing in a nearby fish pond when he accidentally fell into the water, the pond was more than ten feet deep and suddenly a woman jumped into the water, carried him to the edge of the pond and sent him home. His mother saw her son soaked to the skin, like a chicken, asked about the situation, for a change of clothes, brought to the pool, the water has not yet dried, asked all the families, are not aware of the person who saved the water. The whole family fought to see it, and when my brother looked at it, he exclaimed: 'She is the one who carried me up from the pool. The whole family was enlightened and was deeply grateful for their kindness. He was saved from falling into the water because his parents and sister always chanted the holy name of Guanyin. If you have children who are in the military or in danger of going out, please make offerings to Guanyin and chant the holy name of Guanyin to be blessed and protected forever.

Mrs. Wong has been married for ten years and has not had any children. She was so anxious that she heard that if she asked the Goddess of Mercy for a child, her wish would be granted, so she prayed for a son. The following year another daughter was born. After the fall of the mainland, the family moved to Taiwan and her husband's career became more successful, her children were smart and obedient, and they both studied at Taiwan University. Knowing that all this was due to the mercy of the Bodhisattva, she became more devout in her morning and evening rituals. Her neighbours, who were mostly foreign believers, saw her as a vegetarian and worshipped Buddha, and were tempted by all kinds of ridicule, but she was not yet moved. On a certain day in the forty-seventh year of the Republic of China, the neighbours said, 'Someone's son and his wife's daughter are studying in the United States with the help of the Church. Your son is about to graduate and if he wants to stay in the United States, he will have no problem if the church helps him. After attending a few services at the church, he decided to listen to the priest and his neighbours and was baptized, and he tore up the statue of Guanyin in his house and burned it, while the paper ashes showed the holy face as a warning. Without repentance, she forced her husband and children to attend a church service. She was carried home by force, crying and laughing uncontrollably, and did not eat for several days. Her friend, Mrs. Zheng, told the Buddhist monk Ma Shaoqian of the Great Compassion Buddhist Association to seek medical treatment on her behalf, but Ma said, 'He has been blessed by the Buddha all his life and will answer all his requests. If she had not torn up the statue, she would not have had to go to hell. The Bodhisattva was merciful, so she repeatedly warned her husband and children to turn back and avoid the fall. I would like to tell her husband and children that they should still worship the Goddess of Mercy at home, and that they should kneel down and repent, wishing that from now on they will sincerely recite the Buddha's teachings and never retreat, and that they will ask the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and the spirits to forgive their ignorance, and that they will be cured immediately. He did not listen to the advice and refused to turn back, so even though the Bodhisattva was merciful, there was nothing he could do. According to the Buddha's statue carved on paper and wood, and the Buddha's name carved in stone, all should be treated as real Buddhas, and be revered and worshipped for immense blessings, but despised and blasphemed for infinite retribution. The Buddha said, 'Destroying pagodas and temples, burning sutras and images, or taking Buddhist and monastic objects is the first fundamental sin, and one should fall into the infernal hell and suffer infinite suffering. A certain husband later built a house and used the same stone plaque as a doorway, blaspheming the Buddha's name, and was warned by fire and sent back. However, Mrs. Wong, who was blessed by her devotion to Guanyin, suddenly believed in foreign religions and destroyed the sacred statue, and was immediately warned of her insanity. Although all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are merciful and compassionate, they are not willing to give up their phantom bodies. The gods of the protectors of the Dharma want to manifest the present retribution, and to advise rather than punish, so that they may repent and turn around and avoid the retribution of hell. The gods want to punish one and warn a hundred, so that everyone will have respect and faith and be blessed.

The book is a great example of how to punish evil in order to encourage goodness. Life is made by myself, and blessings are sought by myself. In the year of the Hajj, he was able to readily confess his sins in a letter. He then knelt and recited the Kuan Yin sutra every day to pray for his mother's longevity, and even for the relief of all sentient beings and the benefit of all living things. His mother, who was suffering from a chronic illness and a fire disease, suddenly burst out at the same time and became more violent than before. She said to him, 'My illness began thirty-one years ago, and I was cured when it came on. He wept and said, 'It is my son's fault that I am not sincere enough and that I have not removed my delusions. At once he burned incense to heaven, bowed his head and wept bitterly, vowing to rid his mother of all delusions and to pray for her early healing. At that time, his mother had not been able to drink any water for five days, but on that day she suddenly wanted to eat a thin porridge. That night, he dreamt that the Goddess of Mercy, to whom he was worshipping, greeted his mother and asked her to sit with him. He gave his mother a cup of green water and told her to drink it. The next day, his mother's condition was halved and she was cured in a few days. He believed in the truth of induction and responded to his voice. From then on, he chanted the sutra with even greater devotion. (Record of Faith)

One day, when the monk Hongzan was returning to the mountain, he passed by his house in a boat and met him. The majestic deity of Kuan Yin Da Shi is unbelievable and is able to save all beings with a great and fearless spirit.' He immediately taught him the ten lines of the Kuan Yin Life-Saving Sutra: 'Kuan Shi Yin, Namo Buddha, have cause with Buddha, have karma with Buddha, Dharma and Sangha karma, constant happiness and purity, chant Kuan Shi Yin in the morning, chant Kuan Shi Yin in the evening, chant from the heart, chant not from the heart.' When she returned home, she taught her daughter-in-law to recite the sutra and told her to place the copy in front of her bed and recite it again before she went to bed. The next day, his daughter-in-law woke up feeling better and more settled. At midnight on the second day, the pus and blood in her sores festered and all flowed out, and she exclaimed with joy that she was cured. She rinsed out her mouth and bowed before the statue of the great monk. The recovery was so rapid that the family celebrated. At that time, it was widely spread from far and near: 'The compassionate power of the Great Master is particularly quick in its inspiration and reward. (Guan Yin Ci Lin Ji)

The first of these is a book that was written by a young woman named Zhang Yu, who had a daughter named Fu'er who was a good chanter of the Guanyin Sutra (which is what we are now talking about). She said that she had been taken by two servants of the Underworld and had crossed the Forked Ridge (the name of the place). He said to her, "You owe him fifteen hundred dollars and you should pay him back today. A man dressed in green came and said, "This girl is reciting the Kama Sutra, so let her go. The girl fell to the ground and woke up and told her father. The next day, her father visited a house in Forked Ridge and found that a woman named Chen had given birth to three dogs last night, two black ones and one spotted one, which died immediately after birth. Zhang Yu then went home and returned the money to the Chen family in full, but the Chen family refused to accept it and gave the money to the Zhang family as a merit. (Nanhai Ci Ban)

The story of a student named Shan Fan in Linjiang, Jiangxi Province, who was very bright as a teenager and entered school at the age of 14. He later married Fan, a beautiful but fierce woman named Jiangcheng, and Shan Fan was very afraid of her. Not long after the marriage, she abused Fan so much that even her parents-in-law were unable to stop her. Shan Fan was unable to cope with the suffering and separated from his wife. When his mother saw him, she was very worried. Suddenly she dreamed of an old man who told her, 'This is the karma of my past life. In his previous life, Jiangcheng was a long-lived rat kept by the monk Jiyye, and in his previous life your son was a scholar who occasionally went to the temple and killed the rat, so the evil karma is in this life and cannot be undone by human effort. But recite the Great Compassion Mantra (Guanyin Mantra) a hundred times every morning, and it will be effective.' They both followed his teaching and chanted the Great Compassion Mantra, but after two months or so the girl was still as rude as ever and felt even more wild. One day an old monk was preaching the Dharma of cause and effect outside the door, and many people were watching and listening. After saying this, he took a sip of water and sprayed it at the woman, soaking her sleeves. The onlookers were flabbergasted, but Jiang's daughter did not say a word, wiped her face and returned to her home, and the monk also left. The monk also left. Since then, the girl repented of her past mistakes and was as bad as a new bride, bashful and obedient to her husband, determined not to decline. (Liaozhai Zhiyi)

The story of General Sun Liren, whose wife, Sun Zhang Qingyang, is a devout Buddhist, who had a strange illness in the past and was cured by the Goddess of Mercy. In her article 'Why I believe in Buddhism' there is this paragraph.

'...... In the twenty-fourth year of the Republic of China, Liren and his team were transferred to Wufu, near Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, and stationed there. I remember that we were living in a large public house, an old house with several big doors. One evening, I somehow stepped outside the main gate to look out over the night landscape. I was afraid to look into the darkness, so I ran in quickly, but in a moment I ran frantically out of the gate again like a drunken man, and a cool breeze came over me like a gauze. When I returned to my room, I saw in the mirror that my mouth was crooked, and then I spat out chunks of blood, which my friends said had been blown by the evil wind. I went through all kinds of treatments, including the use of gold circles to hook my mouth, the use of eel blood on my face, and the use of electrotherapy at Ningbo Hua Mei Hospital, but none of them could cure the disease, and even the famous doctors could not find the cause of the disease. I wanted to see my mother one last time and took the poison immediately. A few days later, my mother arrived from Nanjing. She was a believer in Buddhism, and when she saw that all my medication had failed, she ordered the whole family to fast for a day, set up a joss stick in the courtyard, burned incense and prayed, and used the Great Compassion Mantra twenty-one times to ask for a cup of pure water for me to drink. In the evening, his mouth was righted. The power of one cup of mantra water cured him without any medicine, which shows the incredible power of the Buddha's teachings.' (A guide for the sick)

★There was a monk named Zhu Fayi in the Jin dynasty who lived on the mountain of Shi Ning in Xing Ning and studied all the Buddhist scriptures very finely, and there were often more than a hundred students studying from him. When he was in the second year of Xian An, he felt sick with heart qi and was ill for a long time, so he devoted himself to devotion to the Bodhisattva Guan Shi Yin. Suddenly one day he dreamed that a man broke open his belly and took out all his intestines and scraped his When he woke up, he was cured of all his illnesses. Fu Liang, an official of the Shang Shu order of the Song Dynasty, who compiled this miracle, often said that when his father was alive, he and Yi travelled together in the mountains, and Yi often told this miracle, and there was no one who heard it who did not stand in awe. (Taiping Guangji)

He had a dream in which he saw a man tell him that he would die at the age of forty-two. Tai was moved to awaken, so he devoted himself to the chanting of the Bodhisattva, and never slackened in his efforts, day or night. He was overcome with sorrow and fear, and sweating all around, he felt relieved and was cured of all the diseases he had suffered. (The Second Book of the Monks)

★After the three frustrated Mong-sons of the western part of the river had followed the righteous Dharma, they became ill. (Biography of Fahua)

When he was sick with typhoid fever and no one dared to visit him, he cried in grief and kept reciting Guanyin Bodhisattva. (The first collection of the biography of the senior monk)

When she was a teenager, she was seriously ill and took a lot of good medicine, but instead of being relieved, her illness got worse every day. It is said in the scriptures that if someone is in distress and can turn to the Three Jewels and repent and ask the Buddha for blessings and wishes, they will all be saved. If you can give your daughter a bath and cleanse her, and if you can make a sincere appeal, you will certainly be cured. She was so diligent that she recited the Dharma Flower Sutra and fasted for thirty-seven years, often wishing for her future ascension to the Douri Heaven. (Bijuani Biography)

What are the acts of abstaining from killing and releasing

 1. Do not kill a living being with your own hands.

  2. Do not abet others to kill.

  3. Do not help others to kill.

  4. Abstain from eating meat.

  5. Do not engage in trades related to killing.

6Whenever there is worship, regardless of what is being worshipped, use vegetarian dishes, flowers and fruit, not animal gifts.

  7. If you see someone killing a human being, you should discourage them or buy the animal to be slaughtered with money and release it. If this does not work, or if the person does not sell the animal, then you should have compassion for the slaughtered animal, and even better if you can recite the Buddha's name or mantra for it.

  8. Do not abuse the animal.

9Other actions that are contrary to killing.

  10. Abstain from killing and releasing animals yourself, and advise others to do the same.
