Doing good deeds makes your child smarter and less sick
One of the author's students, who lives in Tainan, came to visit me once. She said that after reading the author's book "Cause and Effect", she believed very much in the phenomenon of cause and effect, so she gave alms whenever she could, such as sending money to institutions like nurseries or homes for the disabled, and it turned out that there were many "miracles".
The first thing I noticed was that my children seemed to be getting better and better behaved, smarter and more intelligent, and they were always learning quickly whatever they were taught these days. In the past, the children used to catch colds and get unwell and had to go to the doctor at every turn, but recently they seem to have improved a lot, which has saved her a lot of trouble, so she feels very relieved.
In addition, she said that her brother-in-law had recently had a very troubling accident which had caused his family a great deal of distress because he was currently working as a police officer. The family did not thank him, but instead suspected him of being the perpetrator of the car accident. He even asked a provincial public representative to tell him that he would have to pay a huge sum of money to settle the case, otherwise he would have to pay for it and he would be left with no way out. The police officer was in a difficult position, as he was falsely accused of being the culprit instead of being rewarded for his kindness in helping others. However, there was nothing else to do but to swear repeatedly and to defend themselves, and the whole family was in a state of distress and distress.
At a time when she was at her wits' end, the author's student was struck by the idea that giving alms might bring good fortune and relief.
The next day, she went to the post office and secretly gave a charity (remittance to help the poor) for her brother-in-law, and silently prayed that he would be cleared of his injustice soon.
Within a few days, the drunken man, who had been unconscious, miraculously came to his senses and publicly identified the police officer, who had been falsely accused of saving his life, as his benefactor.
The matter was cleared up, so a not insignificant storm and dispute dissipated, when the other party's attitude changed 180 degrees and not only ceased to be misunderstood, but also expressed sincere gratitude and apologies. The student also said that once her father-in-law went to a hospital because he was very ill and the doctor said there was nothing he could do.
She said that all these experiences were true, and she could not explain how such a miracle could have been achieved as a result of her good deeds.
What are the acts of abstaining from killing and releasing
1. Do not kill a living being with your own hands.
2. Do not abet others to kill.
3. Do not help others to kill.
4. Abstain from eating meat.
5. Do not engage in trades related to killing.
6、Whenever there is worship, regardless of what is being worshipped, use vegetarian dishes, flowers and fruit, not animal gifts.
7. If you see someone killing a human being, you should discourage them or buy the animal to be slaughtered with money and release it. If this does not work, or if the person does not sell the animal, then you should have compassion for the slaughtered animal, and even better if you can recite the Buddha's name or mantra for it.
8. Do not abuse the animal.
9、Other actions that are contrary to killing.
