Only when you know your fate can you follow it

 知命方能随缘

A person who has a profound understanding of life will realize that fate really exists. A person who believes in Buddhism will believe that all life experiences are fate. The Buddha's interpretation of fate is extremely reasonable. The Buddha is neither fatalism nor fatalism. The Buddha tells us that fate is karma and karma. The principle of karma is very deep. All Buddhist scriptures are about cause and effect. It is not a simple thing to thoroughly understand what is cause and effect. The simplest explanation is that you reap what you sow. This is from a small point of view, from a large point of view, chanting Buddha is the cause, and becoming Buddha is the result. So all laws are empty, and cause and effect are not empty. We often like to say that it is easy to follow fate, which is right. We should follow fate and not climb it in life, but in reality we often have to climb it. Why is it easier to say it than to do it? The important reason is that you don't know your destiny. If you really know your destiny, you can follow it everywhere.

Knowing the destiny is a kind of faith, a firm faith in Buddhism. Nine out of ten things are not good in life. This Saha world is indeed a sea of bitterness. Now, at the end of the Dharma period, the suffering of all living beings is even more serious, which is inevitable. No sin is too heavy to produce Saha. We have created endless evil karma in the past and this life. Suffering is also inevitable. Knowing our fate is to confirm our fate. Knowing that our life's situation is caused by our own karma, not by anyone else. So when the fate is violated, we should know that this is before the result. Can we change our fate through various struggles? No, it is difficult to change a fixed job. Only to endure, is your end is yours, can't avoid, not your you can't pursue. This is the common fate. It doesn't mean that we have to wait passively for the judgment of fate, which is not called knowing fate. Do your best, don't change the status quo in an improper, immoral or illegal way, and do your best. That's all right. That's what life is all about.

The Buddha Dharma tells us that all things are created by the mind, and that all things are done, such as dreams and bubbles, so everything in the universe and the world is not real, and there is no entity in the fate, which is also the result of the realization of the mind. Since fate is a false image caused by our past karma, we have the ability to change it. If fate cannot be changed, there is no need to learn Buddhism. How to change fate? Don't do any evil, and do all good in these eight words. From the perspective of world law, we are changing our fate by doing more good and not doing evil. In terms of the birth method, we should not only do the good in the world and cut off the evil in the world, but also get rid of the bad thoughts, practice Buddhism, promote the law and benefit life, which is changing our destiny. If we can do this, our destiny will certainly change. The more vigorous and courageous, the more obvious the change of fate. This is knowing fate.

After knowing our destiny, we will not force it, but will follow it. The so-called: flowers bloom and fade, sunrise and sunset, follow the fate of any luck, and be at ease. You should think carefully.

   一个对人生有深刻体悟的人，他会认识到命运的确实存在。一个信仰佛教的人，他更会相信人生的遭遇皆是命运。佛法对命运的解释是极其合理的，佛法不是宿命论，也不是命运至上论，佛法告诉我们命运就是业力，就是因果报应。因果报应的道理很深，所有的佛经阐述的，都是因果，要想彻底明白什么是因果，绝不是件简单的事。最浅易的解释就是种瓜得瓜，种豆得豆，如是因，如是果。这是从小处讲，从大处讲来，念佛是因，成佛是果。所以说万法皆空，因果不空。我们常常喜欢说随缘，这是对的，为人处世就应该随缘而不攀缘，但现实中我们却常常不得已攀缘，为什么随缘说起来容易做起来难呢？重要的原因就是不知命，果真能知命就能够做到处处随缘。
      知命是一种信心，对佛法的坚固信心。人生不如意事十有八九，这个娑婆世界的确是苦海，现在到了末法时期，众生的痛苦就更加深重了，这是必然的事情。罪不重不生娑婆，我们过去今生造的恶业无边无尽，受苦也是势所难免之事。知命就是对自己命运的确认，知道自己这一生的遭遇处境都是自己的业力招得的，不是谁加之于我们的，所以当违缘现起的时候，我们就应该知道这是果报现前。通过种种奋斗挣扎能不能改变命运呢？不能，定业难转。只有忍受，是你的终是你的，躲避不了，不是你的你也追求不到。这就是通常讲的命运。不是说我们只有消极等待命运的判决，这不叫知命。尽自己的努力去做，不要采用不正当，不道德，不合法的方式改变现状，尽力而为，这就行了，这才是知命。
      佛法告诉我们一切唯心造，又告诉我们一切有为法，如梦幻泡影，所以宇宙人间一切都不是实在的，命运也没有实体，也是心现识变出来的。命运既然是我们过去的业力造成的假相，我们就有能力改变它，如果命运不能改变，佛亦不必要学了。怎么改变命运呢？诸恶莫作，众善奉行，就这八个字。从世法上讲，我们多行善，不造恶这就是在改变命运。从出世法上讲，我们不但要行世间的善，断世间的恶，还要把不善的念头去掉，修行佛法，弘法利生，这就是在改变命运。如果我们能做到这些，我们的命运就一定能改变。越精进勇猛，命运改变得就越明显。这就是知命。
      知命后我们就不会强求，就会随缘。正所谓：花开花谢，日出日落，随缘任运，逍遥自在。诸君慎思之。
