One threw the Buddha and broke his leg; One picked up the Buddha statue, and the business was booming. The karma in the world is true. If you do good deeds with good intentions, the gods will bless you

Zhong Shubao, a native of Tianbao Village, Shushan Town, Wuwei County, Anhui Province, was born on October 22, 1965, illiterate and engaged in fruit business in Nanjing. Ten years ago, Jushi Zhong invited a discarded and damaged Buddha to go home and worship it. Later, his career became more and more successful, and his karma was very representative.

At the instruction of the old monk Shaoyun of Baochan Temple in Anhui Province, the author interviewed Zhong Shubao at his home in Nanjing on Sunday, September 25, 2005.

Although things seem very ordinary, they mean thought-provoking and hope to arouse those of us who do not understand or believe in Buddhism, respect Buddhism, avoid evil and promote good, and feel good results.

Zhong Shubao didn't believe in Buddhism at first. After coming to Ning, he has been pushing a tricycle stall near Xinjiekou to do fruit business. One day ten years ago, due to the demolition of Nanjing Huowa Lane, an old man was seen throwing a Buddha statue into the courtyard wall beside the road. For some reason, Zhong Shubao went into the courtyard and picked up the discarded Buddha. He found that the leg and arm of the Buddha had been broken. So Zhong Shubao invited the Buddha back home, bought plaster and glue to repair the broken place, and bought gold water to paint the Buddha again. It doesn't cost much. It adds up to ten or twenty yuan.

Since then, Zhong Shubao found that his business was getting better and better, and he felt that things were going smoothly. The same is selling fruit. I always sell more and faster than others. Some other fruit vendors nearby have quit the business because of bad business.

Now Zhong Shubao's business volume is large. In 1995, he first bought an agricultural tricycle, and in 1998, he bought a 3.5-ton Yuejin truck. In 2003, he bought a van. In 2004, he bought a second-hand house (located in the center of the city) in Nanjing, 47 square meters, and cost more than 300000 yuan.

It is worth mentioning that after buying an agricultural tricycle, Zhong Shubao purposely drove back to his hometown to pull fertilizer for the villagers for free without even charging for gasoline. This kind of gratitude psychology is worth learning.

However, Zhong Shubao also told me that about two years after the Buddha was retrieved, an old lady found him one day and asked him if an old man dropped the Buddha last time. Did you pick it up? Zhong Shubao thought she was the one who came to ask for the Buddha statue. After asking, he found out that the old man who broke the Buddha statue was the neighbor of the old lady. After breaking the Buddha statue, the old man fell and broke his arm and leg (it happened that the Buddha statue also broke his arm and leg). He died not long ago. The old lady didn't believe in Buddhism. Now her family all believe in Buddhism and are very religious. This incident is the inducement.

An interesting thing happened to Zhong Shubao: In 1998, he bought a 30-ton cement boat, and his family lived on the boat. He hired an hour worker to help with some housework. They were busy outside in the daytime and returned to the boat at night. Zhong Shubao asked the Buddha he found to come back and offer it to the ship. He didn't know how to sleep for a while. At this time, he subconsciously told himself that there might be water leakage at the bottom of the ship. It turned out that the child was sleeping in the cabin, and his wife and himself were sleeping on it. At this time, he insisted that the child sleep on it, fearing that something would happen. When I sleep in the cabin, my waist will ache when I wake up. One day, when I woke up, I found that the bow of the ship sank, and the stern was high up. When I walked to the bow of the ship, I found that there was a big hole in the bottom of the bow of the ship. Fortunately, the cabin was separated from the cabin, so the ship didn't sink. After the event, it should be the Buddha and Bodhisattva who gave him a premonition that the bottom of the boat was damaged a week ago. He really felt that the Buddha he had invited back was very smart. His hourly worker also told him that when he was working on the ship, he would see the Buddha and shine.

Zhong Shubao has now become a Buddhist. I hope that in the future, he will be full of faith, listen to the Dharma, and achieve success in this life. I also hope that all living beings will end up doing evil, practice good deeds, accumulate wealth, and live happily!

Return: I would like to use this merit to solemnly report the four blessings of the Pure Land of Buddha and relieve the three hardships. If there is anyone who has heard of it, he will learn to send Bodhi Heart and do his best to report himself and live in the blissful country!

 一个把佛像扔了，结果摔断了腿；一个捡起了佛像，结果生意兴隆。世间的因果报应，真实不虚。好心做好事，天神必保佑之......

 钟书保，安徽无为县蜀山镇天保村人，１９６５年１０月２２日生，不识字，在南京做水果生意。１０年前钟居士将一被人丢弃并损坏的佛像请回家供奉，后事业越做越顺，越做越大，其因果报应很具有代表性。

   应安徽褒禅寺绍云老和尚指示，笔者于２００５年９月２５日星期日，在钟书保南京的家中对其进行了采访。

   虽然事情看起来很平常，但其中意味发人深思，也希望能唤起我们这些不了解佛法或不相信佛法的人，尊重佛教、避恶扬善，都能感得好的果报。

　　钟书保原本不信佛，来宁后一直在新街口附近推三轮车摆摊做水果生意。十年前的一天，因南京火瓦巷住宅拆迁，看到一位老人在马路边把一尊佛像扔进了路边的院墙内。也不知出于什么原因，钟书保进得院里，把被扔的佛像捡了起来，发现佛像的腿和胳膊已被摔破，于是钟书保把佛像请回了家，买来石膏、胶水把摔坏的地方补了起来，又买来金水，将佛像重新刷了一遍。花钱并不多，总共加起来也就一二十元。

　　从这以后，钟书保发现自己的生意渐渐地好了，心里也觉得做事很顺。同样是卖水果，自己总比别人卖得多，也卖得快，而旁边其他的水果摊主，有的已经因为生意不好，退出了这个行当。

　　现在钟书保的生意量大了，１９９５年先是买了一辆农用三轮机动车，在１９９８年再买了一辆３．５吨的跃进卡车，２００３年又买了一辆面包车，２００４年在南京买了套二手住房（市中心位置），４７个平方，花费３０多万。

　　值得一提的是，在买了农用三轮机动车后，钟书保特意开回了老家，免费地给乡亲们拉化肥，连汽油费都不收，这种报恩心理，值得我们学习。

　　然而，钟书保又告诉我，在捡回佛像后两年左右的时间，一天一位老太太找到他，问上次有个老头把佛像摔掉，是不是你捡回家的？钟书保原以为是她来索要佛像的，后一问才知道，那位摔佛像的老人是这位老太太的邻居，老人在摔掉佛像后，摔了一跤，把胳膊和腿都摔断了（正好佛像也是胳膊和腿摔坏了），在不久前已经去世。原来老太太不信佛，现在她全家都信佛，而且都很虔诚，这个事件正是诱因。

　　在钟书保身上还发生了一件有意思的事情：１９９８年他买了一条３０吨的水泥船，一家都住在船上，请了一个钟点工帮助做些家务，他们白天在外面忙，晚上回到船里休息。钟书保把捡到的佛像请回来供奉在船上，有一段时间不知道怎么，总是睡不着觉，这时，他的下意识告诉自己，船底可能漏水了。原来是孩子睡在船舱里，自己和爱人睡在上面的，这时他坚持要求孩子睡在上面，就怕会出什么事情。而自己睡在船舱里，醒来时腰又会特别疼。一天，在醒来时，发现船头沉下去了，而船尾高高的翘起，走到船头才发现，原来船头的舱底，破了一个脸盆大的洞，幸亏舱和舱之间是隔开的，船才没沉下去。事后一总结，应该是佛菩萨早在一个星期前，就让他有了船底破损的预感。他真是觉得自己请回来的那尊佛像很灵，他家的钟点工也告诉他，自己在船上工作的时候，看到了这尊佛像会放光。

　　钟书保现已成为了一位佛教徒，愿他在以后的日子里，俱足正信，听闻正法，今生成就，也希望所有众生诸恶末做，众善奉行，积聚资粮，往生极乐！

　　回向：愿以此功德，庄严佛净土，上报四重恩，下济三途苦，若有见闻者，悉发菩提心，尽此一报身，同生极乐国！
