A gentleman should have great ambitions
One should have ambition, but not ambition. Isn't it not to sail in the dark and herd sheep when lost? Aspirants are the direction of life. According to this excerpt from Redsun's article, Mao Zedong -- an example worth learning forever, a spiritual leader worth worshipping forever
---Zhuge Changqing
People value ambition, more noble ambition, and the most noble ambition. Throughout Mao Zedong's life, we can think that the most noble ambition of "saving the country and the people" is the most fundamental reason for his heroic achievements.
Mao Zedong lived in a private school for 6 years when he was 8-14 years old. During this period, although his academic achievements were excellent and laid a solid foundation for him in ancient Chinese, he had no great ambition in fashion and could be described as learning in "chaos". According to the information available at present, when Mao Zedong dropped out of school for more than two years and was 16 years old, he read a pamphlet about the great powers dividing up China. The first sentence was: "Alas, China is going to die!". As a result, he "began to realize that everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of the country". In 1910, he was named "Ziren"; The first division studied, and the students gave the nickname "Mao Qi" and so on, which showed that they had great ambitions and were extraordinary.
It is worth mentioning that the teachers' praise to Mao Zedong also has a significant impact on his ambition and pursuit of great achievements. Guo Boxun, who "knows how to count", asserted that Mao Zedong would become a great man in the future by looking at his face; Mao Luzhong had a bright eye on him. He was ingenious and painstakingly carved jade. He instilled in him the great truth of determination to become a talent and serve the country. He taught "books on the rise and fall of chaos", such as "The General Guide to Governance", "Zhenguan Politician" and "Sun Tzu's Art of War". When Shaoshan Chong could not accommodate the eagle that was about to spread its wings, he also urged Mao Zedong to leave the country; The headmaster of Dongshan Primary School called him a "national talent", and Tan Yongchun praised him in his composition as "looking like a king with immortal bones, looking at the universe, like the water of the Yellow River, pouring down thousands of miles"; The six-hundred-character "Shang Yang's theory of relocating to Mu Lixin" won the teacher's 150-character comment, saying that he was "talented and promising", "it is a great tool to practice a uniform style of writing, and I don't know where to go if I add merit"; When his life was dying, Yang Changji also solemnly recommended Mao Cai (Cai Hesen) to Zhang Shizhao: "I solemnly speak to you, the two sons are talented in the world, and have a great future. If you don't speak of saving the country, you must first speak of saving the country"
