It is no accident that Li Ka-shing founded the Changjiang Plastic Factory in 1950 and has developed into a diversified business empire today. When he founded the plastic factory at the beginning, he devoted himself to it. In addition to the management of the enterprise, he also undertook various functions such as design, sales promotion and procurement.

But what really made his career develop and grow was that he knew the development of small enterprises well: finding unique market positioning; Be honest and honest; Know people and make good use of them; Constantly accumulate corporate reputation and win greater development opportunities.

Unique market positioning When Li Ka-shing opened the Changjiang Plastic Factory, he mainly produced plastic toys and plastic daily necessities, which was not significantly different from other enterprises in the industry at that time.

In order to make the enterprise win greater development, Li Ka-shing thought day and night and found the business opportunities of plastic flowers. He then flew to Italy to visit the plastic flower factory, and applied to enter the factory to learn the production and manufacturing process of plastic flowers.

After returning to Hong Kong, he identified plastic flowers as the main business direction of the company, called on business backbones to develop new plastic flowers suitable for oriental aesthetic standards within more than one month, and quickly listed them at a low price, rapidly occupying the plastic flower market in Hong Kong.

The plastic flower developed by the Changjiang Plastic Factory, which is led by honesty and meets difficulties, is novel in style and cheap in price, so it has received a large number of orders; However, it also encountered the difficulties of capital shortage usually encountered during expansion.

The story originated from a European wholesaler who wanted to order a large number of plastic flowers and prepare a deposit in advance, but wanted Li Ka-shing to provide a strong company or individual guarantee to ensure that the products could be delivered on time.

Li Ka-shing searched for relatives, friends and banks all over the world, but he was not guaranteed. However, he did not give up. He fought with the designer overnight and designed 9 new samples for customers to choose from.

European customers are very satisfied with their products. After learning that Li Ka-shing has no financial guarantee, they still said to him, "Your sincerity and credit are the best guarantee."

The crisis turned into a turning point. Changjiang's products quickly entered the European market, and the turnover and profits doubled. In 1958, the turnover of Changjiang Company reached more than 10 million Hong Kong dollars, and the net profit was more than 1 million Hong Kong dollars.

When knowing how to make good use of entrepreneurship, Li Ka-shing needs loyal and hardworking talents. He chooses two leaders - Sheng Songsheng and Zhou Qianhe, who are in charge of production and Zhou Qianhe is in charge of finance. They worked hard and assiduously to help Li Ka-shing start his business.

After the development of his career, Li Ka-shing promoted excellent management talents, and Huo Jianning was a typical example. He is good at financial management and financial planning. The major investment arrangements, stock issuance, bank loans, bond exchange, etc. of Changshi are all planned or participated in by Huo Jianning. At the age of 35, he has been appointed as the Deputy General Manager of Changshi.

In 1958, Hong Kong's real estate was not favored by the world at that time. Li Ka-shing entered decisively and built industrial buildings in North Point and Chai Wan. Later, when Hong Kong's real estate was at a low ebb in 1967, he bought a large number of cheap properties. In the subsequent economic recovery in Hong Kong, he became the largest land owner in Hong Kong.

Benefit others and yourself, and win the opportunity of enterprise development. In 1977, Changshi participated in the bidding for the construction right of the upper cover of the subway station Chater and Jinzhong. Before the bidding, Li Ka-shing carefully studied the situation of the subway company, and proposed to bid for the development right of the property above the subway station entrance mainly based on cash payment. Finally, in more than 30 competitions, Li Ka-shing's Changjiang Industrial Company won.

The victory came from Li Ka-shing's self-interest strategy. The Yangtze River Industrial Company under his command provided cash for construction expenses to meet the urgent need of cash for the subway company; After the completion of the Shanggai Commercial Building, the benefits will be shared by the Metro Company and Changjiang Industry, and the practice of half opening will be broken. The Metro Company accounts for 51%, and Changjiang Industry accounts for 49%.

In 1978, the Haifu Center and the Globe Plaza, the properties on the subway developed by Changshi, were ideal for sales. Tang Xin, the chairman of the subway company, said publicly: "The development of the properties on the subway stations in Central and Jinzhong will set a model for the cooperation on the subway stations in the second and third phases of the company."

   李嘉诚1950年创办长江塑胶厂,发展到今天拥有一个多元化业务的商业帝国不是偶然的。他在初初创立塑胶厂时,就全身心投入,除了做企业的管理外,还承担了设计、推销、采购等多种职能,勤奋刻苦优于常人。

  但真正让他事业发展壮大的,是他深谙小型企业的发展之道:找到独特的市场定位;诚信无欺,迎难而上;知人善用;不断累积企业声誉,赢得更大的发展契机。

  独特的市场定位李嘉诚开办长江塑胶厂时,主要生产塑胶玩具和塑胶日用品,与当时其他业内企业并无明显的差异。

  为了使企业赢得更大的发展,李嘉诚日夜思索,发现了塑胶花的商机。他于是飞赴意大利参观塑胶花工厂,并应聘进入工厂学习塑胶花的生产、制造工艺。

  回到香港后,他确定塑胶花为公司业务主攻方向,召集业务骨干在一个多月内开发出适合东方人审美标准新品塑胶花,并以低廉的价格快速上市,迅速占领了香港的塑胶花市场。

  诚信为首,迎难而上长江塑胶厂开发的塑胶花,款式新颖,价格便宜,因此接到了大量定单;但也遭遇扩张时通常遇到的资金短缺的困难。

  故事起因于某欧洲批发商希望大量订购塑胶花,准备预付订金,但希望李嘉诚提供有实力雄厚的公司或个人担保,保证产品可以按时供货。

  李嘉诚遍寻亲友、银行,都没有获得担保。但他没有放弃,与设计师连夜奋战,设计出了9款新样品,提供给客户选择。

  欧洲客户非常满意他们的产品,在获知李嘉诚没有财务担保后,依然对他说:“你的真诚和信用,就是最好的担保。”

  危机变成转机,长江的产品迅速打入了欧洲市场,营业额及利润成倍增长。1958年,长江公司的营业额达一千多万港元,纯利一百多万港元。

  知人善用创业时,李嘉诚需要忠心耿耿、忠实苦干的人才,他选择了两员干将——盛颂声和周千和,盛颂声负责生产,周千和主理财务。他们兢兢业业,任劳任怨,辅助李嘉诚创业。

  利人利己,赢得企业发展的契机。1977年,长实参与地铁遮打站、金钟站的上盖兴建权竞投。竞投前,李嘉诚细心研究了地铁公司的情况,提出了以现金支付为主,竞投地铁车站口的上盖物业的发展权。最后,在30多家竞争中,李嘉诚的长江实业公司胜出。

  获胜源于李嘉诚利人利己的策略。他执掌的长江实业公司提供现金做建筑费,满足地铁公司急需现金的需要;上盖商厦建成后,利益由地铁公司与长江实业分享,并打破对半开的惯例,地铁公司占51%,长江实业占49%。

  1978年,长实开发的地铁上盖物业海富中心和环球大厦销售理想,地铁公司主席唐信公开表示:“中环、金钟地铁车站上盖地产发展,将为本公司二期、三期工程的车站上盖合作,树立了样板。”
