How do charismatic leaders impress their subordinates?

Lincoln is recognized as a charismatic leader.

It is often mentioned that leaders have charisma. What is charismatic leadership?

"Charm" is used to describe the personality power that leaders have that has a profound impact on their subordinates. Martin. Luther. King, Gandhi, Kennedy and Lincoln are all considered as models of charismatic leadership.

Max, a German sociologist. Weber was the first to put forward the concept of charismatic leaders. He believed that the reason why they were accepted by their subordinates was that leaders and their subordinates believed that leaders had some talent. '

Psychologists put forward from the psychological point of view that the obvious characteristic of charismatic leadership is full of confidence in their own abilities, correctness and ideas. They are good at expressing their thoughts and can skillfully use various expression skills.

Lincoln is regarded as one of the greatest presidents and charismatic leaders in American history. Researchers believe that Lincoln is a model worth learning from today's leaders. Lincoln embodies the essence of charismatic leadership in three aspects: setting an example, sharing a vision (a goal that he is eager to achieve) and being good at communication.

Charming leadership is the soul of an organization

Charismatic leadership is not based on organizational power, but on personal characteristics and charm. Charming leadership is the soul of an organization. If leaders want to be recognized and achieve higher goals, they must establish a code of conduct for others.

Lincoln spent most of his four years as president with the army. For Lincoln, casual contact with subordinates is as important as formal meetings, and sometimes even more important. At the end of the war in 1865, Lincoln frequently visited soldiers on the battlefield, and he would appear wherever it was important.

Inspire people with a real vision

Charming leaders emphasize vision. A true vision can inspire people. The vision should be clear, challenging, meaningful, time-tested, stable and flexible. A true vision empowers people. It is based on dissatisfaction with the reality and also prepares for the future.

Lincoln has been preaching his vision throughout his four years in office. His ideas are simple and clear, emphasizing equality and freedom repeatedly, and constantly injecting new content into his vision so that the connotation of the goal will not be reduced. During the Civil War, Lincoln traced back to the past and then used the past and present to connect the future. Gettysburg Address is the representative of Lincoln's vision, and its role is significant and far-reaching.

Lincoln's means of communication is storytelling

The most important way for leaders to mobilize their subordinates is to communicate. Lincoln's means of communication is storytelling.

Lincoln told stories mainly for a certain purpose, not for entertainment. Recent research results in the field of leadership show that Lincoln's method is indeed effective, and stories are a powerful means of motivating people to be loyal, wholehearted and enthusiastic. Austin, the American master of management, believes that "people think mainly through stories, not through piles of data to reason. Stories are easy to remember and will teach people... If we really value ideals, values, motivation and dedication, we should play the role of stories and myths."

A proper story can often alleviate the strong stimulation caused by rejection and criticism, so as to achieve the goal and avoid hurting feelings. Lincoln took his storytelling skills to the extreme. Even when he had the most serious conversation with cabinet members, he still took time to tell an anecdote to show how he thought. The meetings used to discuss policies and national policies and plans are often successfully concluded by a story of the President.

Setting an example, sharing a vision and being good at communication are the basic skills of a charismatic leader. It is with this ability that they convince their subordinates and make themselves the soul of the whole organization.
