What is the meaning of "Jianji Suiyou" on the plaque of the Hall of Supreme Harmony of Qianlong?

In the center of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, there are four large tablets inscribed by Qianlong - Jianji Suiyou [ji à n j í su í y ó u]

So what does "Jianji Suiyou" mean?

Zhuge Changqing explained as follows according to relevant experts in China:

Jianji Suiyou -——

Build: establish and create.

Pole: The original meaning is the building on the ridge, the main beam of the house, and the highest position, which means the highest rule of governance.

Sui: The original meaning is the rope holding hands to get on the car, and the extended meaning is appeasement and compliance.

You: Tao, rules, rules.

Zhuge Changqing believes that the basic meaning of Jianji Suiyou is that the Son of Heaven should do two things: first, establish and master the highest rule of governing the world, and second, obey the laws of governing the world.

Zhuge Changqing believes that these four words of Qianlong contain the great wisdom of Chinese culture and are worth learning and practicing.

太和殿中央，是乾隆题写的四个大字匾额——建极绥猷[ jiàn jí suí yóu ]

那么，“建极绥猷”是什么意思呢？

诸葛长青根据我国有关专家解释如下：

建极绥猷———

建：建立、创设。

极：原义为屋脊之栋、房屋的正梁、最高位置，含义为治国最高准则。

绥：原义为挽手上车的绳索，引申为安抚、顺应之意。

猷：道，法则、规律。

诸葛长青认为，建极绥猷基本含义为：天子要做到两点，一是建立掌握治理天下的最高准则，二是顺从治理天下的大道规律。

诸葛长青认为，乾隆的这四个字，包含了中华文化大智慧，值得我们学习实践。
