In the Lotus Sutra of the Miraculous Dharma, Guanyin Bodhisattva's General Items said:

"If there are hundreds of billions of sentient beings suffering from all kinds of sufferings, they hear that they are Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and they are named with one mind. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, who immediately observes its sound, will be relieved."

There are poems praising Avalokitesvara:

Guanyin Bodhisattva is wonderful and hard to pay. He is pure and dignified.

Thirty-two should go through the dust brake, and tens of millions of calamities will turn Yan Fu.

The nectar in the bottle is often sprinkled, and the willows in the hand do not count autumn.

There are thousands of prayers and thousands of answers. The bitter sea is often used as a ferry.

观世音菩萨救苦救难，护佑中华，度化众生。

观世音菩萨，大慈大悲，救苦救难。

观世音菩萨，常驻中华，护佑众生。

时常念诵观世音菩萨名号，或者塑造传播观世音菩萨形象等，可以得到观世音菩萨护佑，

《妙法莲华经》中的《观世音菩萨普门品》说：

“若有无量百千万亿众生，受诸苦恼，闻是观世音菩萨，一心称名。观世音菩萨，即时观其音声，皆得解脱。”

有诗赞颂观世音菩萨：

观音菩萨妙难酬，清净庄严累劫修。

三十二应遍尘刹，百千万劫化阎浮。

瓶中甘露常时洒，手内杨柳不计秋。

千处祈求千处应，苦海常作度人舟。

南无大慈大悲观世音菩萨！
