The Story of Changing Fate: The God of Zao Guiding Him to Change His Fate
To change one's destiny, one must be determined, make a great wish, have strong faith and be persistent in order to be effective.
------ Zhuge Changqing
Good destiny, how to seek it?
How to have a good career? Wealth? Health? Family? .......
Countless stories from ancient and modern times prove that good fortune can be attained by doing good deeds and accumulating virtue.
Zhuge Changqing reminds those who are fortunate that there is a God of Zao (Master Zao and Grandmother Zao) in everyone's home, who records the good and bad deeds of the family and reports them to the Heavenly Court every month. The Jade Emperor arranges for staff to be assessed and honoured. Depending on the person's family and his or her own good and bad deeds, rewards and punishments are set. Those who do evil are punished and those who do good are rewarded.
This is the reason why people have different good and bad fortunes.
The story of a man whose fate has been changed is told in the TV series Yu Jinyi Gong Meets the God of Zao, in which the God of Zao teaches a man named Yu to change his fate. Watch it and you will understand.
What is the story of Yu Jinyi Gong's encounter with the God of Zao?
The basic story is that a man surnamed Yu wanted to change his fate, so he prayed to the God of Zao every year. Later, the God of Zao himself sent him a dream and told him that you have to be really determined to change your fate, you have to be persistent and patient, and you have to swear to be determined to correct it before you can .......
Determined, Mr. Yu resolved to correct his shortcomings and immediately had a good destiny, not only did he pass the entrance exam and find his lost son, but he was also appreciated by the Chancellor of the dynasty, Zhang Juzheng. Fate can be changed.

Zhuge Changqing reminds those who have a destiny: if you want to change your destiny, you must be determined to do it for real.
You have to reflect on whether you have really made up your mind to change it.
For example.
Have you vowed to let go of life while buying fish and shrimps and gorging yourself on food and drink?
Have you vowed to change your mind, while at the same time complaining and cursing others?
Have you vowed to do good deeds, yet you are not willing to give money to beggars when you see them?
Have you vowed to stop evil and do good deeds, yet you can't help but look at the unhealthy website ........
Remember, to change your destiny, you must really be sincere in correcting it, sincere, sincere, sincere .......
A brief summary of the story of Yu Jing Yi Gong's encounter with the God of Zao.
During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, there was a Du Du (俞公) in Jiangxi, whose name was Liangchen (良臣). He was very learned and talented when he was a young boy, and at the age of eighteen, he became a scholar and topped every examination.
When he was in his prime, his family was poor, so he taught students at a private school. When he was not teaching, he formed a Wenchang society with a dozen of his classmates, where they performed good deeds and accumulated virtue according to the Wenchang Emperor's Yin Stallion, and together they cherished words, let go of life, and abstained from obscenity and killing.
When he was in his prime, his family was struck by a series of disasters. He failed seven examinations, but failed repeatedly. He had five sons, four of whom died of illness. The third son was very intelligent and had two moles under his left foot. Unfortunately, this son lost his heel playing outside at the age of eight and was never seen again, giving birth to four daughters, of which only one remains.
Such a family tragedy caused his wife to cry her eyes out from desperate longing for her children. After so many setbacks, Yu Gong's youthful aspirations for a better life were completely shattered. He reflected on himself: "I am a scholar, intelligent and wise, and I have always done good deeds and accumulated virtue, so I have not done much wrong.
After he had passed the age of forty, every year on the thirtieth day of the lunar month, he personally wrote a prayer to the God of Zao, asking him to pass it on to heaven and earth. On New Year's Eve, when he was forty-seven years old, the family of this unmotivated man was particularly cold. He, his blind wife and a sick daughter were in a dimly lit room with no words to say to each other, and when he saw the happiness of other families and the desolation of his own family, he could not help but feel sad.
As the three of them were feeling sad, they suddenly heard a knock at the door, and Yu Gong answered it with a candle. He sat down with a bow and said, "My name is Zhang, and I have come from afar to comfort you because I heard lamentations in your house."
Yu Gong felt that this man had an extraordinary air, so he treated him with extra respect, and they talked. Yu Gong said, "I have spent my life studying and doing good deeds, but now not only have I failed to achieve any success, I have also ended up with an incomplete wife and children, having given birth to nine children and having only one daughter left, and my wife has cried her eyes out from grief, and now my family can hardly even make ends meet." Duke Yu also read out to Duke Zhang the spell he wrote every New Year's Eve.
Zhang Gong said, "I have known about your family affairs for a long time. Your problem is that you have too much evil in your heart, and you seek vain fame in your appearance, and your essays are full of complaints against heaven and earth, and you have blasphemed against them.
I am afraid that the punishment is more than that!" This statement by Zhang Gong, "His intention is too heavy, and his focus is on vain fame," directly points to the reason why Yu Gong has failed in his life for thirty years.
Zhuge Changqing: Good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil. A heart that is too evil, full of grievances and insulting heaven and earth, has committed a great fault. Mr. Yu, who was too evil at heart in the beginning, led to a miserable fate in life, and was only later warned by the God of Zao that he had discovered his fault.
Yu Gong was astonished and said, "I have heard that even the slightest good deed in the underworld must be recorded in heaven, and I have vowed to do good deeds for the past thirty years, and have been observing and practising the rules of the Wenchang Society, can all this be denied with a monopoly of false names?"
When Zhang Gong saw that he could not yet see his own faults, he was tit-for-tat, directly exposing his inner faults, targeting his shyness of words, his release of life, etc. ...... The problems are proved one by one.
Let's look at the first one first: the love of words and paper.
Zhang Gong said, "Your students and friends often use old books to paste windows, wrap things, and even use them to wipe things and tables; you quickly burn the paper on the pretext that you cannot stain it; you see it with your own eyes every day, but do not say a word of admonition; you only take it back and burn it when you see it on the road; what benefit is there in that?"
Look at the second article again: releasing life.
Zhang Gong said, "Every month the Wenchang Society releases life, you just watch with the flow, follow others around, and if others don't go, you don't do it, in fact compassion is not initiated from the heart."
"You are just paying lip service to killing, you don't have the true kindness of loving life, your family also eats animals like shrimps and crabs, aren't they life? Are they not suffering when they are then killed on the shuffle board and fried in the frying pan? Are you releasing life externally and killing it internally, and is the vow of abstinence clean?"
Zhuge Changqing: When Mr. Yu was young, not only did he not release living beings, no instead he went around hunting and killing fish, birds, cicadas and other living beings, leading to a tragic mix of fate. He later realised and repented before he had a good fate. It is really very terrible to kill living beings.
Let's look at the third article: abstaining from killing. To "abstain from the mouth" means to abstain from delusional speech, cheeky talk, double talk and bad language.
Zhang Gong goes on to say.
"In this article, you are quick and clever in your speech, and those who listen to you are often overwhelmed by you. But you are used to laughing and joking among friends, and you are so cynical and irrepressible that your tongue is as harsh as a blade, and you offend the spirits and gods at every turn. Are you deceiving the heavens?"
Zhuge Changqing: Speaking harshly, looking down on people, hitting others, sneering, repaying kindness and denouncing others will all damage one's own blessings.
Look again at the fourth article: abstaining from evil sexual intercourse.
"Although you do not have the fact of evil lust, you have the mind of evil lust; when you see someone else's woman who is beautiful, you stare at her with unblinking eyes, and your mind wanders, unable to dispel it, only because you do not have the karma of evil to put it together."
"Look at it yourself, if you were in the presence of a beautiful woman throwing herself at you, would you be able to sit with your arms intact? And how dare you say that you have never had an evil desire in your life, can this be identified as true or false before heaven and earth and the spirits? How can you do such a poor job of following the rules you swore to, let alone other acts outside the rules?"
Zhuge Changqing: committing evil deeds and having evil thoughts all harm blessings.
God has sent messengers to observe your good and evil deeds, but for many years you have not had a single good deed to record. You have seen in your private life, when you were alone, thoughts of greed, lust, jealousy, exaltation, revenge and vengeance, too many to be counted."
The blessings come from a good heart, and the calamities are caused by disgust. Therefore, the Duke of Zhang said, "So many evil thoughts have become a part of your heart, and the records of Heaven are already full.
The Duke of Yu was so frightened and afraid that his whole body trembled and he fell to his knees in tears and said, "Since you know what is happening in the underworld, you must be a divine being, so please save me!"
Zhang Gong's words were like thunderbolts, which awoke Yu Gong with a start. It was because he did not understand cause and effect and was foolish and ignorant. Previously, he did not know the truth of life at all, he did not understand the horror of cause and effect, his own intentional evil was so serious that he could not perceive it and thought he was doing well, he did not find the root of his illness and was bent on blaming heaven. His ignorance led to his miserable situation for thirty years, but he was a man who could change his ways, and seeing that he could be taught, Duke Zhang taught him the way to change his ways and made his His life changed dramatically.
Zhang Gong said, "You have read the sage books and understand the truth, and you know that you must learn to be good and take pleasure in goodness. When you hear words of exhortation to goodness, you are also excited in your heart, and when you see people doing good deeds, you are also deeply inspired in your heart and want to be good, but your fault is that you forget things as soon as they pass, your faith is not deep and your constancy is not solid, so your thirty years of good words and good deeds have all fallen to the surface and none of them have really been put into practice."
Zhuge Changqing: to do good deeds and accumulate virtue, one must act immediately and persistently, otherwise it amounts to nothing.
Zhang Gong again commented on his evil. "Your heart is filled with all kinds of nauseousness rising and falling, and you can't get rid of it all day long; greed, anger hangs on your heart all the time; your heart is so bad, yet you still blame Heaven for not sending down blessings for you, just like you planted a field full of thorns, yet you still obsessively hope for a bountiful harvest of fruits. It's absurd to expect fruit without cause! From now on, watch your heart carefully, and whenever you see any lustful or bad thoughts arising, destroy them immediately. If you have the strength to do a good deed, you must not seek reward or fame or fortune, and no matter how big or small the deed is, you must devote yourself to it, without any hypocrisy, and do it honestly. If you cannot do a good deed yourself, you must not lose your good heart inwardly; you must make your good heart complete."
Zhuge Changqing: If there is a mistake, correct it, vow to correct it, and correct it immediately, in order to be effective.
Zhang Gong went on to say.
The first is to have patience. Doing good deeds can sometimes be difficult, and if you cannot endure it, you cannot accomplish it.
Zhuge Changqing: The God of Zao warns people that they should be patient in doing good deeds and accumulating virtue, and that they should not lose their fighting spirit after a few days of doing so. A good destiny is transformed. Doing good deeds and accumulating virtue is like planting an apple tree, patiently watering it before it bears fruit. To do good deeds, it is important to have patience and confidence.
The second thing is to have an everlasting heart. If you have these two minds, even the greatest and most difficult good deeds can be completed.
You must not be lazy in doing good deeds, you must be diligent in your efforts and not deceive yourself. If you can persist in doing them for a long time, you will naturally have unexpected rewards with each passing day. Your family has served me with great devotion and cleanliness, and in order to repay you, I am telling you this truth, so be good to yourself and work hard as soon as possible, and you may yet redeem the will of heaven." When Duke Zhang finished speaking, he went towards the house of Duke Yu, who got up to follow him, and when he reached the stove, he suddenly disappeared. Only then did it dawn on Yu Gong that Zhang Gong was the God of Zao, the God of Destiny.
When he knew that the visitor was the God of Zao, Yu Gong reverently burned incense, kowtowed and gave his thanks in a million ways.
The next day was the first day of the Lunar New Year and he decided to become a new man, so he worshipped, prayed and swore to heaven and earth that he would correct his faults. He kowtowed in front of the statue of the Goddess of Mercy worshipped in his home, so much so that his head bled, and vowed that in the future he would be pure in his good thoughts and strive for perfection, and that if he still forgave himself, he would fall into hell forever.
Every morning, he chanted the name of the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, the Goddess of Mercy, one hundred times, in order to pray for the Bodhisattva's blessing in the underworld. Therefore, every word he said, every action he took, every thought he moved, it was as if the demons were watching over him, and he dared not deceive himself or let go of his mind. He did everything that benefited people, no matter how big or small, whether he was free or not, whether others knew about it or not, whether he had enough power or not, he was happy to do anything good until it was done.
On the last day of each month, Yu Gong wrote down what he had said for the month and reported to the God of Zao by writing a sparse text in front of him. After three years of doing this, Yu Gong was completely transformed and his heart was full of evil and he became full of good.
Three years later, in the second year of the Wanli reign, when Yu Gong was fifty years old, the state held an examination. The examiner was a chancellor called Zhang Juzheng (a great statesman of the Ming Dynasty, known as Zhang Jiangling), who wanted to choose a teacher of good character and learning for his children among his fellow villagers, and at that time people unanimously recommended Yu Gong.
Zhuge Changqing: what a great blessing to have been successful in the imperial examinations at the age of 50 and to have met Zhang Juzheng, the chancellor of the dynasty, as the teacher of his children. This is how good deeds work.
The original Yu Gong had been poor and unable to fulfil his ambition. But now he gave up his evil ways and became a teacher of morality and righteousness, and was hired by the Chancellor to be his teacher in the capital. So Yu Gong took his family down from Jiangxi to the capital and became the teacher of the Chancellor's son, which the general public would consider as good luck.
The Chancellor respected Yu Gong's morality, so he enrolled him in the State Scholarship School. After two more years, Yu Gong won the imperial examinations and the next year he was admitted to the Imperial College. One day Yu Gong went to see his master, Yang Gong, and the master called his children out to meet his guests. One of them was a 16-year-old boy who looked familiar to Duke Yu, so he asked, "Where are you from?
The child replied, "I am a native of Jiang You, and I remember that when I was a child playing outside, I mistakenly boarded someone's grain ship and left my hometown, I still remember my surname Yu and where my family lived." The Duke of Yu was so astonished that he had the child take off his left shoe and found that he had two distinct moles under his left foot, so he exclaimed excitedly, "This is my child, shout loudly, my son!" Yang Gong was also shocked, what a providence, how could it be such a coincidence? So he returned the child to Duke Yu and told him to go home with him.
Zhuge Changqing: doing a good deed and getting the lost child back, isn't this a blessing from heaven?
By this time, Yu Gong could no longer control his excitement, he was already in his fifties and ran all the way home, shouting his wife's name. Mother and child met and cried out in pain. The mother caressed her child and shed tears of joy and blood, and the child cried too. He dutifully held his mother's face and licked her eyes with his tongue. At that moment, a miracle occurred and the old lady actually regained her sight in both eyes, so the family was reunited and enjoyed the joy of heaven again.
Zhuge Changqing: What a miraculous induction to restore sight to the blind eyes. What a miraculous inspiration. Heaven has the virtue of goodness. If you do good deeds, you will be blessed.
After returning to his hometown, he did even more good deeds than before. His son had seven sons, all of whom were outstanding in their studies and filial piety, and inherited a family of scholars.
He wrote about his encounter with the God of Zao and his personal reformation of his fortune as an example to his children and grandchildren, and he lived a long and happy life until the age of 88.
