Master Xuanhua: Doing good deeds and accumulating virtue are the basis of all success

Venerable Master Xuanhua, an outstanding master of Chinese culture, used his great wisdom to benefit mankind.

-----Zhuge Changqing

The great Chinese nation continues to advance.

The great Chinese culture benefits the world.

Since the founding of the Chinese nation by Fu Xi and Nu Wa, the Chinese nation has always carried forward the spirit of "striving for self-improvement and carrying things with great virtue".

In the course of the development of the Chinese nation, there are always many people who have made great contributions to the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and the promotion of good morality.

Venerable Master Xuanhua is such a master of Chinese culture who selflessly devoted himself.

Zhuge Changqing was deeply moved and admired by the Venerable Master Xuanhua for his research on the material of his deeds of promoting Dharma and benefiting life.

The master of Xuanhua always practiced the traditional culture of traditional Chinese culture and deeply understood "Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism of traditional Chinese culture".

The Venerable Master Xuanhua always reminds people to do more good deeds, do more good deeds and improve themselves. Accumulate blessings and win glorious moments in life. If you do more good deeds, you will be rewarded.

Master Xuanhua is the ninth generation founder of Weiyang Sect of Zen. The common surname of Shuangcheng people in Heilongjiang Province is Bai. At the age of 12, he felt that life and death were meaningless, so he had the idea of becoming a monk. His mother died and became a monk after three years of filial piety in his mother's tomb. He began to study classics and complete his voluntary work.

Zhuge Changqing was very moved. The Venerable Master Xuanhua personally practiced the Confucian culture of filial piety and kept the tomb for his mother for three years. This is the sage on earth!

In order to continue the wisdom of the Buddha, in 1968, Master Xuanhua came to the United States from Hong Kong and strongly advocated the practice of Zen Buddhism and Buddhism, breaking the stereotype. Advise the disciples to meditate every day, chant Buddha every day, and study the classics every day. Only by doing three things together can we get twice the result with half the effort.

Under the call of Xuanhua to be more humane and virtuous, young men and women of Chinese, American, British and Vietnamese nationalities have converted to receive equipment and become monks. Master Xuanhua is the most prestigious Buddhist leader in the contemporary world. Dharma Master Xuanhua modestly called himself "little ant", "little mosquito", "monk in the tomb" and "living dead" (1918-1995). In fact, he was the successor of the ninth generation of Weiyang patriarchal sect in the Eastern Territory, the 46th generation of Zen patriarchal sect in the Western Territory, and even in the middle of the 20th century, he planted Buddhism in the United States, which helped the three treasures to take root in the West and become a Chinese monk who forgot his body all his life. Zhuge Changqing believed that the Venerable Master Xuanhua was the master founder who spread Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism to the United States.

Dharma Master Xuanhua has been used to "sacrifice oneself for others" since he was young. Zeng said, "I am born stupid, and I don't know how to benefit myself, but only know how to benefit others!" It is no wonder that when I became a monk at the age of 19, I made a vow in front of the Buddha that "all sentient beings should be considered as one". If there is one sentient being who has not become a Buddha, I will swear not to take the orthodox party as the great vow king of Tibet Bodhisattva that "Hell is not empty, and I will not become a Buddha"!

The master of Xuanhua said that the people who study Buddhism should start planting seeds to the ground. Can the seeds grow after planting? It depends on all kinds of predestination. The seeds can be born smoothly when all the conditions are fulfilled; If all aspects of the help are not satisfactory, it may become scorched bud and abortion. That is to say, when we grow Bodhi Heart and seeds of Bodhi, do we grow them deep enough? Is it firm or not?

If you plant deep enough and firm enough, the seeds will take root and sprout in the future. But if you want to bear Bodhi fruit, it will take a long time. It depends on how hard you work? If you work hard and achieve enlightenment and enlightenment, this is the harvest.

During the process of rooting, sprouting, leafing, flowering and fruiting, seeds must be cultivated, irrigated and fertilized for a long time. What is fertilizer? It is the morality of learning Buddhism. Practice should be based on morality everywhere, and the fundamental precept is not to interfere with morality.

Confucianism says, "Virtue is the origin of wealth, and wealth is the end." Virtue is the root of human beings, while wealth is only a peripheral thing. Monks should cherish their blessings and save everything, and not waste money and materials. Only by accumulating time and time can they cultivate their own virtue, and the branches and leaves they produce will flourish, and the fruits will be plentiful. If you don't add fertilizer and cultivate and irrigate, the branches, buds, flowers and fruits will easily wither and die. Therefore, the first commandment of a monk is "pay attention to virtue".

Virtue starts with small things. "Don't do small things without doing them." Don't think that small things don't do, but wait to do great things. There are not so many great things. The mountain is formed by particles of dust. Although the dust is small, it will become a mountain if it is accumulated more; Although virtue is small, if you accumulate more, it will become a mountain of virtue.

Zhuge Changqing: Venerable Master Xuanhua reminded people to do more good deeds while taking advantage of their lives, accumulate good deeds and accumulate good returns. Don't wait and waste your life.

Not violating morality is virtue, and not interfering with others is virtue. Whatever you do, take helping others as your duty. If you hinder others in terms of interests, time, cultural wisdom, or other things, and cannot benefit others, it is against morality. Therefore, in our every move, every word and every action, we always take not violating morality as the fundamental precept. If you want to cultivate Taoism, you must cultivate virtue first; Without virtue, you can't practice Taoism. When someone wants to practice Taoism, the magic barrier comes to him. This is because there is no virtue, so he said: "The virtue is also the end of the wealth."

Morality is equal to the sun and moon, to heaven and earth, and to human life. Without morality, people have no life. What is morality? It is to take the benefit of others as the main purpose and not hinder others as the purpose, that is to say, the heart is full of benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and faith.

(1) Ren: If you have a benevolent heart, you will not kill.

(2) Meaning: There is enough knowledge to do everything just right, in line with the middle way, neither too far nor too far, neither left nor right, everything in line with the middle way. If you understand the meaning, you will not steal; A man of loyalty will not steal from others.

(3) Rite: Rite is a kind of courtesy. You will not commit adultery if you are polite. Theft and fornication are both because they are not in accordance with the etiquette and are against the convention.

(4) Wisdom: wise people will not drink and eat ecstasy indiscriminately, and stupid people will do all kinds of things upside down.

(5) Faith: If you have faith, you won't lie.

Benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and faith are fully fulfilled. This is the Tao and virtue. So morality is born from the heart, and its root is in our heart. But it has a color. This color is not green, yellow, red, white or black, but a manifestation of virtue and a luster of virtue. Therefore, Han Yu said in the (original) article, "benevolence is benevolence, and what is appropriate is righteousness, and what is right and what is right is morality. It is enough that you can't stay outside." Mencius said, "Benevolence, righteousness, courtesy and wisdom are rooted in your heart, and its color is also reflected in your face, reflected in your back, and applied to the four bodies, which are self-evident, Even on the limbs. Although this kind of virtue can't be described, everyone can understand it. The performance of virtue is the real Kung Fu knowledge. This kind of virtue can't be pretended. False will only cheat people for a while, not for a long time.

To cultivate morality is to cultivate integrity, not to hinder others, nor to be afraid of others interfering with yourself. Everyone accepts and accepts adversity; Whoever is not merciful or unreasonable to himself is his good knowledge. It is only when you can accept adversity and handle adversity with equanimity that you can see your ability to endure humiliation. Don't be moved by a word from others. Some people's "immobility" is shameless, which is wrong. The "immobility" you need to practice is to be able to tolerate what others cannot tolerate. This is the real kung fu. Otherwise, you must start from scratch.

Taoism takes "three flowers at the top" and "five qi at the yuan" as the expression of moral perfection. These two nouns sound to some Buddhists as pagans. In fact, what is an outsider? What is the inner way? There is no external or internal way in this term, which is used to describe the result of a certain practice. The "three flowers" are essence, qi and spirit, all of which have become a kind of brilliance. "Five Qi" means benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, and faith. The five Qi are all complete, which is called Five Qi Chaoyuan.

In Buddhism, when morality is complete, one can obtain the great round mirror intelligence, the equality intelligence, the wonderful observation intelligence, the accomplished intelligence, the three body, the four intelligence, the five eyes, and the six connections. Without any of them, one cannot achieve this state. Therefore, Buddhism is dignified, it can cover all religions, and all religions are only a part of Buddhism. Therefore, I often compare Buddhism to university courses, Taoism or other superior religions can be regarded as secondary schools, and worldly religions such as Confucianism are only primary school courses.

Whether primary school, middle school or university, they are all scholars; All religions in the world are also religious people. They can't be divided into different categories. When they come to this religion, they will say that it is good, and when they come to that religion, they will say that it is bad. "Those who enter will be enslaved, and those who leave will be polluted" is a wrong idea. All religions are part of Buddhism, and this view is correct because Buddha said, "All living beings have the wisdom and virtue of the Tathagata, and can be regarded as Buddhas." All living beings have the Buddha nature, so the paganism is also one of the living beings, and also has the opportunity to become Buddhas. Why should we keep that out of the door? Buddhism is to make all the emptiness, all the Dharma realms, and there is no boundary, no door, and no view of people. Therefore, we Buddhists should be ambitious and not narrow-minded and stingy.

In Taoism, there is a kind of expression of virtuous people, which can be seen by ordinary people, that is, childish face and white hair. Although the hair is gray, its face looks like a child, very moist and fine. Why? It is a change of moral inspiration. Although he has white hair, his hair is not dry, and it is glossy (not waxed). His hair and hair will shine. If he has kungfu, or has five eyes, he can see at a glance.

Buddhism has a higher move. It is not only the hair that emits light, but the whole body can emit light. Each hair tip can emit light, and each pore is different. People who practice kungfu in Buddhism can turn their white hair into black and regenerate their teeth. Taoism also has the realm of rebirth, but its pores can't shine. This is the difference. Do you think people are good knowledge? You don't need to open five eyes, but with the naked eyes of ordinary people. As long as you are an expert, you can see whether he is good at knowledge or not? Is there virtue? If a person has no virtue, he is very disgusting!

Zhuge Changqing: A moral person exudes charming atmosphere; Everywhere you meet a noble person, you will be rewarded everywhere.

amitabha. Blessed life is limitless.

Don't do any evil, and do all good. Persistence and responsiveness.

Introduction to Zhuge Changqing: Zhuge Changqing, the inheritor and promoter of traditional Chinese culture, is willing to work with like-minded people in the world to "inherit traditional Chinese culture, promote good morality, revitalize China, and benefit the world".
