Master Xingyun is an outstanding master of wisdom. It is immeasurable to enlighten people.

Master Xingyun said that the principle of induction is:

The water is not clear, how can it reflect the scenery? The valley is not empty. How can you swallow sonar?

If a person does not have a pure and moving heart, how can he correspond with the truth, and how can he communicate with the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas?

The so-called "cool moon of Bodhisattva, which often swims in the sky after all; all sentient beings have dirty hearts, and the moon of Bodhi is in front of them." This is the principle of induction.

Master Xingyun said that the principle of induction is:

The water is not clear, how can it reflect the scenery? The valley is not empty. How can you swallow sonar?

If a person does not have a pure and moving heart, how can he correspond with the truth, and how can he communicate with the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas?

Master Xingyun (Shi Xingyun 1927 -), commonly known as Li Guoshen, was born on July 22 of the lunar calendar, and was originally born in Jiangdu, Jiangsu Province, China. He is the 48th generation of Linji orthodox sect.

He joined the Chinese Kuomintang after coming to Taiwan from the Chinese Mainland, and once served as the party affairs adviser of the Kuomintang and the standing committee member of the Kuomintang Central Committee.

The founder of Foguang Mountain is the first, second and third abbot of Foguang Mountain Temple. He was awarded the Lifetime Honorary Award of "Chinese Cultural Figure".

In his early years, Master Xingyun mainly preached in Yilan. In 1967, relying on the support of believers, he bought land in Dashu Township, Kaohsiung County, and created Foguang Mountain.

It takes the promotion of "human Buddhism" as its religious style, and establishes the purpose of "promoting Buddhism through culture, cultivating talents through education, benefiting the society through charity, and purifying the people through common cultivation".

We are committed to promoting Buddhist education, culture, charity and Dharma promotion. It integrates the past and the present, draws up rules and regulations, and brings Buddhism to the milestone of modernization.

More than 200 ashrams have been established around the world, and dozens of art galleries, libraries, publishing houses, bookstores, Chinese schools, Buddhist jungle colleges, universities, middle schools and primary schools have been established.

Xingyun has written dozens of works, such as "The Biography of Sakyamuni", "Xingyun Zen Talk", "The Book of Enlightenments", and translated them into more than ten languages, including English, Japanese, German, French, Western, Korean, Thai, and Portuguese.

There are more than 1000 monks from all over the world, and millions of believers around the world.

In 1991, the International Buddhist Light Society was established and promoted as the president of the World Federation.

More than 170 national and regional associations have been established on five continents, becoming the largest association of Chinese in the world.

Master Xingyun said the principle of induction----

A little boy shouted "I hate you" at the valley to vent his dissatisfaction. He was surprised to find that people around him also hate him.

The little boy cried and told his mother about the situation. His mother comforted him and took him back to the valley to ask him to cry "I love you" again. The little boy broke into laughter because he heard people from all directions tell him: "I love you".

Empty valley echo, this is induction!

The bell rings and the drum rings, which is also induction. The turtle looks at the egg and hatches the baby turtle; The moth flies have seeds, and the worm bears them. This is also induction.

Poison gas leaked and killed people; Warm as electricity flows into the atrium, which is also induction.

Induction is an interaction and echo between all things in the world and all living beings in the universe.

Seeing that the moon is full and the moon is missing, the passage of time rises; Seeing the flowers bloom and wither, and sighing at the impermanence of the world are all induction.

Mother and son are connected with each other, which is also induction.

Induction is also a karmic method, and induction should have karmic conditions.

In life, a word will make people happy; In a word, it will also be painful, which is also induction.

Shout "Long live" and you will be rewarded; If you scold a fatuous king, you will also be jailed. This is due to predestination, which is also in line with the law of predestination.

Some people often ask: Why must there be induction when chanting Buddha, chanting sutras and crossing the river?

The so-called "sincerity is the soul" is the same.

A Zen master was preaching the merits and virtues of the name "Amitabha". A young man in the crowd asked the Zen master scornfully:

"A sentence of 'Amitabha' has only four words. How can it be so powerful?"

The Zen master didn't answer his question, but only blamed him for saying "fart!"

Upon hearing this, the young man pointed angrily at the Zen master and asked, "How can you swear?"

Zen master smiled calmly and said, "A word of 'fart' is only two words, which has such great power. Besides, 'Amitabha' is four words. How can you say it has no power?"

In fact, "if you feel it, you should". In daily life, you can quench your thirst by drinking tea and have a full meal. As long as you pay attention, where can you not feel it?

Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha, only when you have a pure mind can you feel the starlight of wisdom.

Bless all the people in the world who are destined to meet their needs, the heavenly officials will bless them, the cause will take off, and the source of wealth will expand!

星云大师（释星云1927年－），俗名李国深，农历七月二十二日出生，原籍中国江苏江都，为临济正宗第四十八代传人。

自中国大陆来台后加入中国国民党，曾任国民党党务顾问、国民党中央常务委员。

佛光山开山宗长，佛光山寺第一、二、三任住持。获得“中华文化人物”终身荣誉奖。

星云大师早年主要在宜兰弘道，1967年依托信徒支持在高雄县大树乡购买土地，从此创建佛光山。

以弘扬“人间佛教”为宗风，树立“以文化弘扬佛法，以教育培养人才，以慈善福利社会，以共修净化人心”宗旨。

致力推动佛教教育、文化、慈善、弘法事业。并融古汇今，手拟规章制度，将佛教带往现代化的里程碑。

　 先后在世界各地创建200余所道场，并创办美术馆、图书馆、出版社、书局、中华学校、佛教丛林学院及大、中、小学等数十所。

　 星云撰有《释迦牟尼传》、《星云禅话》、《迷悟之间丛书》等几十种著作，并翻译成英、日、德、法、西、韩、泰、葡等十余种语言。

　 大师有来自世界各地之出家弟子千余人，全球信众则有数百万之众。

1991年成立国际佛光会，被推为世界总会会长。

于五大洲成立170余个国家地区协会，成为全球华人最大的社团。

星云大师说感应原理----

有个小男孩对着山谷大叫“我讨厌你”，藉以发泄心中的不满，结果他惊讶的发现，周遭的人也都讨厌他。

小男孩哭着把情形告诉妈妈，妈妈安慰他，并且带他回到山谷，要他再叫一声“我爱你”，结果小男孩破啼为笑，因为他听到四面八方的人也都告诉他：“我爱你”。

　 空谷回音，这就是感应！

敲钟钟响，敲鼓鼓鸣，这也是感应。乌龟望蛋，孵化小龟；螟蛉有子，蜾负之，这也是感应。

毒气外泄，袭人丧命；温暖如电，流入心房，这也是感应。

　 感应就是天地万物、宇宙众生之间的一种互动、呼应。

看到月圆月缺，兴起了岁月的流逝；目睹花开花谢，感叹世间的无常，这都是感应。

母子连心，魂牵梦系，这也是感应。

感应也是因缘法，感应要有因缘条件。

水不清，如何能影射景物？谷不空，如何能吞吐声纳？

人如果没一颗清净、感动的心，如何能与真理相应，如何能与诸佛菩萨感应道交？

所谓“菩萨清凉月，常游毕竟空；众生心垢净，菩提月现前。”这就是感应的原理。

生活中，一句话，就会让人欢喜不已；一句话，也会令人痛苦不堪，这也是感应。

喊一声万岁，就能获得赏赐；骂一句昏君，也会锒铛下狱，这都是有因有缘的，这也合乎缘起法则。

　 经常有人问：念佛、诵经、超渡，为什么一定会有感应？

所谓“心诚则灵”，道理是一样的。

有个禅师正在开示“阿弥陀佛”名号的功德，众中有个青年不屑的反问禅师：

“一句‘阿弥陀佛’只有四个字，怎么有那么大的威力呢？”

禅师不回答他的问题，只责备他说“放屁！”

青年一听，怒气冲天的指着禅师责问：“你怎么可以骂人？”

禅师平静的笑道：“一句‘放屁’才两个字，就有这么大的力量，何况‘阿弥陀佛’是四个字，你说怎么会没有威力呢？”

其实，“有感则应”，日常生活中，喝茶解渴、吃饭能饱，只要你留心，何处没有感应呢？

诸葛长青：阿弥陀佛，只有心灵清净，才会体会到智慧的星光。
