Emperor Yan is one of the ancient emperors of the Chinese nation.

Yan Emperor's culture is the source of the Chinese national culture that has been passed down for thousands of years, the national soul that unites the Chinese people all over the world, and the spiritual light that inspires the Chinese people to persevere, fight tenaciously, innovate and contribute.

The Shennong family of the Yan Emperor and the Xuanyuan family of the Yellow Emperor, with their great historical achievements, are both respected as the cultural ancestors of the Chinese nation and respected by the descendants of the Chinese people throughout the world.

Zhuge Changqing believes that worshiping ancestors is an important way to carry forward and inherit national culture.

Worship to Emperor Yan is an important part of the continuation of the traditional Chinese culture.

Recently, China held a grand ceremony of worshipping Yan Emperor in Suizhou, Hubei Province.

Today is the Chinese birthday of Emperor Yan on April 26 of the lunar calendar. In 1898, the World Chinese Hometown of Emperor Yan and the Memorial Ceremony of Emperor Yan Shennong were held in Suizhou. Guests from all walks of life from home and abroad gathered in Lieshan to worship the ancestor of Emperor Yan Shennong and pray for the Chinese land.

Liu Qibao, Vice Chairman of the National People's Political Consultative Conference, Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress, Jiang Xiaoyan, Honorary Vice Chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang, Zhang Sujiu, a famous American patriotic overseas Chinese leader, Zeng Wenpei, a member of the Central Standing Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, Huang Qingxian, Special Adviser to the former Chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang and Director of the Department of Mainland Affairs, Xu Guangchun, former Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, and Kang Xiaoping, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Sun Yafu, Vice President of the Association for Cross-Strait Relations, Yang Chengzhi, former Vice President of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Ren Dayuan, Zhang Buwang, Executive Vice President of the China Yanhuang Cultural Research Association, Tang Bengao, Vice President of the China Yanhuang Cultural Research Association, Li Dongyu, Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, De Wacang, Vice Chairman of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Zhang Jie, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of China Hengtian Group, and An Wenbin, a senior diplomat, attended the ceremony.

The leaders attending the ceremony in Hubei include Jiang Chaoliang, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, Wang Xiaodong, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and governor, Xu Liquan, chairman of the Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference, Wang Ling, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and executive deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, and Liang Weinian, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and secretary-general of the Provincial Party Committee. Vice Governor Chen Anli presided over the worship ceremony and delivered a speech.

Wu Huapin, the provincial leader, and guests from overseas Chinese chambers of commerce, social organizations and well-known enterprises from all over the world attended the ceremony.

Liu Qibao announced the opening of the World Chinese Hometown Root-seeking Festival of Emperor Yan in 1898 and the grand ceremony of visiting Emperor Yan Shennong. Gu Xiulian and Jiang Chaoliang respectfully opened the holy gate.

Cui Yun, a senior technician of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Qiu Shaofeng, the chief engineer of the Equipment Department of China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., Liu Younian, the national model worker, the chime bell manufacturer of Wuhan Institute of Mechanical Technology, and Sun Jianbo, the winner of the National May Day Labor Medal and the builder of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, lit the holy fire together.

In the solemn music, the leaders attending the ceremony presented a flower basket to Yan Emperor Shennong. Compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, representatives of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese, and guests from cultural, religious, corporate and other fields presented high incense.

Representatives of 56 ethnic groups jointly read the "Ode to Emperor Yan", and all the guests at the meeting stood in awe and worshipped their ancestors.

In the songs of "The Great Song of Yan Emperor" and "The New Era of China", the inexhaustible flame of five thousand years of civilization continues the gratitude and faith of the Chinese people, and the merits and virtues of the ancestor of Yan Emperor have condensed the great strength of national rejuvenation.

The ceremony was jointly sponsored by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Chinese Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Chinese Yanhuang Cultural Research Association and the Hubei Provincial Government, with the theme of "One Family in the Four Seas, One Family, and the Chinese Dream Together".

今天是农历四月廿六炎帝华诞，戊戌年世界华人炎帝故里寻根节暨拜谒炎帝神农大典在随州隆重举行，来自海内外的各界嘉宾齐聚烈山，共拜始祖炎帝神农，祈福中华大地。

全国政协副主席刘奇葆，第十届全国人大常委会副委员长顾秀莲，中国国民党荣誉副主席蒋孝严，美国著名爱国侨领张素久，中国国民党中常委曾文培，中国国民党前主席特别顾问兼大陆事务部主任黄清贤，河南省委原书记徐光春，中华全国归国华侨联合会副主席康晓萍，海峡两岸关系协会副会长孙亚夫，中国文联原副主席杨承志，中华炎黄文化研究会常务副会长任大援、张补旺，中华炎黄文化研究会副会长唐本高，陕西省政协副主席李冬玉，甘肃省政协副主席德哇仓，中国恒天集团董事长、党委书记张杰，资深外交家安文彬等嘉宾出席大典。

湖北出席大典的领导有：省委书记、省人大常委会主任蒋超良，省委副书记、省长王晓东，省政协主席徐立全，省人大常委会党组书记、常务副主任王玲，省委常委、省委秘书长梁伟年。副省长陈安丽主持拜祖仪式并致辞。

中国航天科技集团公司特级技师崔蕴，中铁第四勘察设计院集团有限公司设备处总工程师邱绍峰，全国劳模、武汉机械工艺研究所编钟制造师刘佑年，全国五一劳动奖章获得者、港珠澳大桥建设者孙建波，共同点燃圣火。

在庄重的音乐中，出席大典的领导向炎帝神农敬献花篮。港澳台同胞、海外华人华侨代表，以及来自文化、宗教、企业等领域嘉宾敬献高香。

56个民族代表共同恭读《颂炎帝文》，与会嘉宾全体肃立，行施拜礼，共拜始祖。

在《炎帝大歌》和《中国新时代》的歌声中，五千年文明的不灭薪火延续着中华儿女的感恩和信仰，炎帝始祖的千秋功德凝聚起民族复兴的伟大力量。

此次大典由国务院台湾事务办公室、中国文学艺术界联合会、中华全国归国华侨联合会、中华炎黄文化研究会和湖北省政府联合主办，主题为“四海一家亲、共圆中国梦”。
