Mencius is known as the "Asian Sage".

Mencius (about 372 BC - 289 BC), the surname Ji, the surname Meng, the name Ke, the word Ziyu (to be tested, the word Ziche and Ziju), was born in Zoucheng (today's Zoucheng City, Shandong Province) during the Warring States Period. A great thinker, educator, and representative of the Confucian school, and Confucius are called "Confucius and Mencius".

Han Yu's "The Original Way" listed Mencius as the figure who inherited the "Confucian orthodoxy" of Confucius in the pre-Qin period, and the Yuan Dynasty granted Mencius the title of "the Sage of Asia" and the title of "the Sage of Asia". Mencius is a collection of essays in the form of quotations, which is a collection of Mencius' speeches, and is jointly compiled by Mencius and his disciples, advocating "benevolence first". The representative works include Mencius, Many Helps, Few Helps, and Born in Trouble and Die in Peace and Happiness.

Mencius advocated the "theory of good nature". He thought that he was born with four virtues: benevolence, righteousness, courtesy and wisdom. In terms of social and political views, Mencius highlighted the theory of "benevolent government and kingly way".

Based on the experience of the Warring States Period, Mencius summarized the laws governing the rise and fall of various countries, and put forward a famous proposition rich in democratic essence: "The people are the most important, the state is the second, and the monarch is the light". He believes that how to deal with the people is extremely important for the rise and fall of the country. Mencius attached great importance to the support of the people, and repeatedly expounded through a large number of historical examples that this is the key issue of winning and losing the world.

Before the age of 45, Mencius led his disciples to travel around the world to spread the new Confucian ideas.

   儒家思想,自从孔子开创儒家思想后,颜回、子路、子贡、曾子、孟子、朱熹、程颢、程颐、王阳明、曾国藩等儒家圣贤,持续把儒家思想推向未来。


  诸葛长青认为,不论是中国振兴,还是中国文化走向世界;不论是工作生活在中国,还是研究中国文化,儒家思想是必须要了解的。


  譬如《大学》《中庸》《论语》《孟子》《弟子规》《三字经》《孝经》等,至少要稍微了解一下。


  孟子,被称为“亚圣”。


   孟子(约前372年-前289年),姬姓,孟氏,名轲,字子舆(待考,一说字子车、子居),战国时期邹城(今山东邹城市)人。伟大的思想家、教育家,儒家学派的代表人物,与孔子并称"孔孟"。


  韩愈《原道》将孟子列为先秦儒家继承孔子“道统”的人物,元朝追封孟子为“亚圣公”,尊称为“亚圣”,《孟子》一书,属语录体散文集,是孟子的言论汇编,由孟子及其弟子共同编写完成,倡导“以仁为本”。代表作有《孟子》《得道多助,失道寡助》和《生于忧患,死于安乐》,《寡人之于国也》编入高中语文教科书中。


  孟子主张“性善论”。以为人生来就具备仁、义、礼、智四种品德。在社会政治观点方面,孟子突出“仁政、王道”的理论。


  孟子根据战国时期的经验,总结各国治乱兴亡的规律,提出了一个富有民主性精华的著名命题:“民为贵,社稷次之,君为轻”。认为如何对待人民这一问题,对于国家的治乱兴亡,具有极端的重要性。孟子十分重视民心的向背,通过大量历史事例反复阐述这是关乎得天下与失天下的关键问题。 


   孟子大约在45岁之前率领弟子出游各国,传播儒家新思想.....。
