Eight assistants who can help you learn Buddhism without deviation

amitabha. On the way of learning Buddhism, we should use the Eight Rights Assistant to help and promote ourselves.

----Zhuge Changqing

Nanwu Master Sakyamuni Buddha.

Namo Amitabha.

Blessed life is limitless.

On the way of practicing Buddhism, how can we not deviate? Zhuge Changqing believes that it is very important to have eight assistants.

These eight assistants are the eightfold path of Buddhism, the eightfold path, also known as the eightfold path, the eightfold holy path or the eightfold holy path. It means eight ways and means to reach the highest ideal of Buddhism (Nirvana).

What is the assistant to learn Buddhism and practice the "Eightfold Path"?

Right view: right view.

Zhengsi: just thinking.

Zhengyu: proper language.

Zhengye: proper behavior.

Zhengming: a proper life.

Zhengqin: just effort.

Mindfulness: the right idea.

Zhengding: proper meditation.

1、 Definition of the Eightfold Path

Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha. The Eightfold Path is the eight assistants on the path of practice, which is very critical and important. With the Eightfold Path, you won't get lost on the way to practice.

"Pain" is the reality of life. How to get rid of pain and happiness and get the ultimate liberation is our goal of learning Buddhism. At the beginning of Buddha's enlightenment, in order to free all living beings from their worries and sufferings, he specially revealed eight cultivation methods to enter the realm of the sage, which is called the Eightfold Path.

"Zheng" is separated from evil and non-evil, so it is named Zheng; "Tao", which means being able to reach Nirvana, is named Tao. Following this eightfold path can make all sentient beings gather pains and troubles to break forever, and prove the sage state of Nirvana, so it is also called the eightfold path.

The Eightfold Path is like a boat raft, which can enable all living beings to cross from one side of the mystical world to the other side of the enlightenment world, so it is also called the Eightfold Path Boat and the Eightfold Raft.

Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha. With the Eightfold Path, you won't get lost.

To put it simply, the Eightfold Path is the eight practical ways leading to the path of becoming Buddha, the way to get rid of worries and pains, and the correct way for Buddhists to practice. Pursuing the Eightfold Path can achieve the goal of learning Buddhism. Therefore, to be a Buddhist, we should understand the significance of the Eightfold Path.

2、 The content of the Eightfold Path

Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha. The Eightfold Path is the eight magic weapons given by the Buddha Sakyamuni to Buddhist practitioners. With these eight magic weapons, people will walk on the right path.

The eightfold path is what the Buddha said when he first turned the Dharma wheel; After that, until Nirvana, four mindfulness, four conscientiousness, four wishful feet, five roots, five forces, seven bodhi fractions were added to form thirty-seven items, which are the contents of the "truth" in the four holy truths. The eight principles and the thirty-seven principles are only detailed and have no difference in meaning. Among the thirty-seven items, the eightfold path is the most representative of the practice of Buddhism, so the eightfold path is generally regarded as the content meaning of the Tao. The Eightfold Path is:

Right view: right view.

Zhengsi: just thinking.

Zhengyu: proper language.

Zhengye: proper behavior.

Zhengming: a proper life.

Zhengqin: just effort.

Mindfulness: the right idea.

Zhengding: proper meditation.

(1) See right

"Right view" means correct opinions and correct concepts. An idea can often change a person's life; To learn Buddhism and practice is to correct the bad habits in the past and change the past, so correct ideas and opinions are more important. In the Buddhist classics, there are many interpretations of the "right view". The "Shenggarland Sutra" says that the right view is not the reverse view. The Huayan Sutra says that the right view is firm, and the wrong view is far away. "The Theory of Great Wisdom" said: "Just see is wisdom. "The Second Gate of the Dharma World" says that if you practice sixteen elements without omission, you can see the four meanings clearly, which is the right view.

According to the various classics, the right view is the right view of reversing the wrong view; It is the wisdom that truly knows the cause and effect of the world and the world; It is the correct view obtained by observing the universe through the Buddhist teachings such as the three dharma seals, the four holy truths, and the twelve karma. In a broad sense, all the principles recognized by Buddhism belong to the right view.

Therefore, people who study Buddhism should have the following correct views:

See karma and karma: all the laws in the world are born from karma, and karma and combination are all phenomena, and the phenomenon is "karma". The fruit comes from the combination of cause and fate. If there is cause and fate, there must be fruit. Just like planting seeds (cause), as long as the conditions (fate) are sufficient, it will blossom and bear fruit. Everyone's life is achieved by the combination of various causes. Therefore, planting good causes will naturally have good results; On the contrary, if you plant the cause of evil and the cause of evil, you will inevitably have the consequences of evil. We can see the cause and the result correctly, and then we can understand the cause and the result, and we can understand from the obsession. Zhuge Changqing: karma is not good at all. You must be careful.

See good and evil karma: karma is the meaning of creation. That is to say, it refers to physical and mental activities such as behavior, doing, action, function, will, etc. Our daily actions and contrivances converge into a great force, which determines our life's happiness and misfortune. Karma comes from actions, words, and intentions. Karma has good and bad karma, and good and evil karma, so we decide not to lose it. The so-called: "If a hundred thousand calamities, the work will not die; when karma meets, the results will also suffer." Also said: "Good is rewarded with good, evil is rewarded with evil; not not not unreported, the time is not yet." Ordinary people often have doubts about the cause and effect of good and evil because "good people suffer, bad people enjoy". In fact, the cause and effect of good and evil can not only look at the moment, sometimes good people suffer Bad people enjoy happiness, which is due to the karma created by individuals in previous lives and thus the results of this life. Only when we can see the karma of good and evil, can we be cautious in our words and actions, and avoid retribution. Zhuge Changqing: Good deeds are rewarded with good deeds, all evil deeds are forbidden, and all good deeds are carried out. This is the essential basis of life.

Just see impermanence and emptiness: all dharma are born of karma and combination, without autonomy and independence. They are born and die out of variation along with karma, so all dharma are "impermanence". Because of "impermanence", the good may become bad, and the bad may also become good. In the constant changes of birth and death, we feel that life is full of suffering, bad suffering, suffering and other kinds of suffering, so we say "suffering is impermanent". It is true that "impermanence in the sky" can make us not indulge in pleasure when we are in good times; In adversity, don't be pessimistic and negative. Because everything will change, and impermanence will bring us hope, inspire us to make progress, and lead us to be transcendental. Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha. We should look at everything in life and see everything in life.

We often say that "life is impermanent". Although the reality of life is "impermanent and bitter air", there is a nirvana world of "constant happiness and self purification" in the impermanent and bitter air. At that time, the Buddha realized the Tao under the Bodhi tree and achieved the positive enlightenment, which is Nirvana, that is, to eliminate the opposition between people and me, to transcend the barriers of time and space, and to realize the eternal and infinite state of life, that is, the true Buddha nature and the true self of each of us. We learn Buddhism and practice in order to achieve such a beautiful and complete nirvana. Because human life, in terms of time, is only a few decades. White clouds and dogs are nothing but dreams; In space, it is nothing more than a seven-foot body. "There are thousands of buildings, but sleeping at night is no more than eight feet; there is a vast expanse of fertile land, and the solar eclipse is no more than a few trees." In the face of such limited life, if we can realize Nirvana, it is to break through the barriers of time and space, spread life in all spaces, and fill all time, and can transcend the fear of death and impermanence, and live in the infinite space and time. Therefore, if we see that the Buddhism is eternal, we will not have a judgment without cause and effect, and then practice good and stop evil, and finally reach the state of Nirvana. Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha, with limited life, we should do something meaningful.

(2) Meditation

"Positive thinking" is also called positive aspiration, positive thinking, positive separation, positive awareness, or meditation. It is the right will, determination, deliberation and separation. The yogi's theory of the earth said: "The non-anger and harmless thinking that arise from the positive view and the increase of power is the positive thinking." Therefore, the positive thinking is the non-greed, non-anger and non-ignorance, and the separation of evil, delusion and greed, and the reflection of truth and wisdom.

The three poisons of greed, anger and ignorance often hamper us and prevent us from moving towards the path of seeking Tao; The three poisons of greed, anger and ignorance are always embedded in our hearts and contaminate our pure nature. If we want to stay away from these three poisons, we must remember the Dharma for a long time with tenacity, and have a soft, compassionate, pure, and non-angry heart, so that our thoughts are always corresponding to the Dharma, so that the three poisons can be removed and can be absorbed into Buddhism.

Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha. Greed, hatred and ignorance are the three poisons of life and must be removed.

(3) Orthodox language

"True words" are good oral actions, that is, no false words, no two tongues, no evil words, and no fancy words in the ten good actions, that is, keep away from all careless words, slanders, arrogant words, abusive words, unkind words, rhetoric and false words. Therefore, Zhengyu is also called Zhengyan and Jingyu. The orthodox language must be reasonable, so it is also called logical language. For example, the Buddha's statements are true language, truthful language, no different language, and no deceit. This is the orthodox language.

Zhengyu has four contents:

Truthful words: true words.

Compassionate words: words that are gentle and tender and give rise to confidence.

Praise: praise others and make people happy.

Advantageous words: words that help others and benefit others.

(4) Zhengye

To do good deeds is to do good deeds. It refers to the personal karma of Dang. That is to say, the behavior is proper, the body, mouth and mind are clean, and they are far away from all kinds of evils, such as killing, not taking and lusting. That is to say, in the ten good deeds, no killing, no stealing, no lewdness, etc. But this is only a negative way of not doing evil deeds. The positive meaning of good deeds should be "caring for students", "compassion", "giving", etc.

In addition, according to Volume 29 of the Yogi Earth Theory, "When you live, you have pursued clothes and other things. If you walk as if you live, if you sit as if you lie down, and if you sleep as if you are aware of your work, it is a good cause." Therefore, the regular living habits are also good cause. For example, proper sleep, diet, exercise, rest and work can not only improve personal health and work efficiency, but also the main factor of family happiness and social stability.

(5) Positive fate

"Zhengming" means a proper economic life and way of making a living. According to Volume 29 of the Yogi Earth Theory, "Dharma pursues clothes, food, and even things, and keeps away from all evil fates. It is a proper fate." Normal economic life is very important, because most of the evil comes from the abnormal economic life. For example, opening casinos, restaurants, slaughterhouses, and selling fishing gear, shotguns and other shops for killing animals are not the right fate.

A proper life should be: a reasonable economic life, a noble moral life, and a harmonious social life

Purified emotional life.

(6) Regular attendance

"Zhengqin" is also called "Zhengjin", "Zhengyi", "Zhengzhi", "Zhifa" and "Zhizhi". It is to march bravely towards the goal of truth. The scripture says, "Laziness at home leads to the loss of common interests; slackness at home leads to the loss of magic weapons." Volume 43 of the Sutra of the Right Dharma and Mindfulness says that slackness is the root of all evil ways, the seed of life and death, and all the troubles in the world are born from it. Those who want to break the bondage of life and death should work hard and give up slack.

Essence is not complicated, and progress is not retreat. That is to say, strive to be good, and strive to cut off evil. "On the Great Wisdom" takes "Four Zhengqin" as the goal of refinement. The fourth is to be diligent: the good that has not been born will rise, and the good that has been born will grow; If no evil is born, no evil will be born. Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha. You can't slack off in life. Sloth is an obstacle to practice.

(7) Mindfulness

"Mindfulness" also means meaning. It is a pure idea, that is, there is no evil idea, and the idea is right. The Legacy Sutra says: "If you have a strong mind, you will not be harmed even if you are among the five evil thieves. For example, if you enter the array with armor, you will not be afraid." Therefore, people who study Buddhism should not put their thoughts on the merits of others, gains and losses, money, fame and interests, and emotional desire. They should always be mindful.

The content of mindfulness is the four parts of mindfulness, namely:

Unclean view of the body: ordinary people often have persistent delusions because of their love for their beauty and health. In fact, our bodies are full of filth such as feces and saliva, which can be said to be a collection of filth. Why is it lovely? The Buddha taught us to "view the body uncleanly" to break our attachment to the body, and then use false practice to prove the immortal Dharma body.

Seeing is suffering: all kinds of pain and happiness in the world are suffering, because life is full of all kinds of pain, sickness and death. Even if there is happiness occasionally, it will disappear because of the changes of time and space.

Observing mind impermanence: Our mind is constantly changing from heaven to hell, from good to bad, from good to evil, from birth to death, like an ape, so we can say that mind impermanence.

The Vajra Sutra says: "All things have their own way, like dreams and bubbles, like dew and electricity, and should be observed as such." Everything in the world will eventually disintegrate and become corrupted. Nothing has its own nature and can be independent. Only by understanding that "there is no self in observing the Dharma" can you find your true Dharma nature from the five desires and dust.

Zhuge Changqing: The Four Minds is a warning light for the improvement of practice, reminding yourself at any time.

We always put our heart above impermanence, bitterness and selflessness, so that we will not be greedy for petty gains in the world, but will be able to brave the way.

(8) Positive definite

"Zhengding" is to concentrate the will and spirit with correct meditation, absorb the scattered body and mind, and cultivate a perfect personality. The real meditation is not in the form of meditation, but in the development of inner energy. Proper meditation should be:

Healthy meditation: can make the body healthy.

Peace of mind meditation: It can make the mind focus on one situation and get light peace.

Enlightened meditation: It can make the mind open suddenly and realize from obsession.

Meditation of seeing nature: It can make Buddha's nature open and reveal, and find the true self.

3、 The importance of the Eightfold Path

Zhuge Changqing: Amitabha. Everyone should reflect on themselves, whether they have achieved the Eightfold Path? Is there anything that needs to be modified? Such thinking will make a rapid leap.

The Great Vajraya Sutra said, "From the right to see, from the right to think; from the right to think, from the right to speak; from the right to speak, from the right to work; from the right to work, from the right to work; from the right to work, from the right to work, from the right to work; from the right to work, from the right to work, from the right to work; from the right to work, from the right to work."

A person can make correct thinking and judgment on right and wrong, good and evil, and true and false only when he has right knowledge and right view. Only when he is exposed to his body, mouth and mind can he have correct behavior. Only then can he work hard towards the correct goal, cultivate good thoughts, wisdom and life, and live in a quiet meditation without leakage.

Therefore, the Eight Rights are one, and the practice of any one of them will surely make the other seven achievements at the same time. In the Eightfold Path, Zhengjian is the first. Just seeing is wisdom, and is the teacher of practice, just as traveling requires eyes and sailing requires compass. It is also like a camera. When taking pictures, you must adjust the aperture, distance and speed so that the picture can be clear and beautiful, and the developed pictures will not change; Buddhists must have correct knowledge and correct vision to see the truth of the universe and life, without causing wrong or paranoid thoughts and behaviors. Volume 28 of the "Zaha Hanjing" said, "If there is a world in which the positive view increases, even if it lasts for hundreds of thousands of lives, it will not degenerate." From this, we can see the importance of the positive view, and the importance of the eight positive paths is self-evident.
