A miraculous inspiration for giving food: dreaming of a great roc-roc golden wing bird after giving food施食神奇感应:施食后梦到大鹏金翅鸟
Giving food, one of the 84,000 teachings of the Buddha, is of great blessing and merit when given consistently.
----- Zhuge Changqing
Giving food can be blessed and protected by Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and good deities, which is incredible.
Giving food is one of the Buddhist teachings of doing good deeds and accumulating virtue, which can overtake living beings and debtors and dissolve karmic obstacles, with great merit and virtue.
Giving food is of great merit and has great blessings.
Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha said in the Sutra of the Flame of Salvation: "Then there is no difference in the merits and virtues of offering food to a hundred thousand kalpas.
Giving food can cure illnesses, reincarnate relatives and debtors, and so on, with incredible blessings.
In the Sutra on Giving Manna to Hungry Ghosts, Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha said, "If one is kind enough to give food to a tuck of hungry ghosts, one's blessing is bodhi, and bodhi is unlimited; therefore, one's blessing is unlimited."
The Sutra on Giving to the Hungry Ghosts says: "That is, such and such is the way to feed all the Buddhas in the ten directions without distinction."
Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha said that anyone with a good heart can give food, whether they are a monk or a homemaker.
The Sutra of the Flaming Mouth of Salvation says, "If a bhikkhu, bhikkhuni, ubhasai, or ubhayi always gives food to hungry ghosts with this secret word and the name of the four Rudras, he will be endowed with immeasurable blessings. The life span is prolonged, the power of colour is increased, and the roots of goodness are complete."
Therefore, the merits of giving food are incredible. Those who have good intentions can learn to give food.
For those who have the desire to do so, please refer to the Zhuge Changqing Food Giving Ritual.

Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha said that those who give food will be protected by Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and good deities. How can I be protected? Think of protecting your eyes as you would protect your own.
The Buddha's Sutra on Giving Hungry Ghosts the Taste of Manna says that those who give food have twenty benefits: "..... The fourth is that the person's ghosts, gods, spirits and monsters are seen as Buddhas. The fifth one whose people the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas heavenly immortals and dragon gods protect as eyes ......"
A sina netizen who studied Buddhist food giving read the sina blog post "Food giving shocking pictures: shocking photos of food giving in the wild (picture)" by teacher Zhuge Changqing and posted a message saying that he dreamed of the Great Roc Goldfinch:.
Greetings, Mr. Zhuge Changqing.
Amitabha Buddha.
Good day, teacher. Last night I dreamt that the Great Roc Goldfinch was soaring in the air and when I pointed my finger at it, it flew down and turned into a person and said to me, "Come with me.
I was so frightened that I said to him, "I am chanting Amitabha Buddha to seek rebirth in the Pure Land, how can I follow you?
He said, "You pointed your finger at me and I came down.
I said, "I was showing others, I didn't mean for you to come down. Now that you have flown down, can I ask you to come and send me to the Pure Land in the West when I am old and at the end of my life. He seemed to agree.
Then, I don't remember the dream that followed.
A student of Buddhism giving food to those who have a destiny
Teacher Zhuge Changqing answered and said.
Amitabha Buddha.
It was a very good dream.
1. The Great Roc Goldfinch is a Buddhist protector deity, right next to the Buddha, protecting the Buddhist world. At the same time, the Great Roc Golden Wing often patrols the world to protect those who study Buddhism and do good deeds. He comes to the earth to make his rounds and knows that you have great merit in giving food, so he appears to you to give you confidence.
2. Roc bird story: In the section of The Journey to the West on the Lion's Hump, the golden-winged roc eagle was really fierce and threatened that he was the Buddha's old maternal uncle. Sun Wukong then went straight to Rulai. He said, "Since the time of the division of chaos, the sky was opened in the Son, the earth was opened in the Ugly, and man was born in the Yin. The beasts of the air are the unicorn and the birds of the air are the phoenixes. The phoenix was born as a peacock and a roc. When the peacock was born, it was the most vicious of all and could eat people. I was on the top of a snowy mountain, and I had cultivated a golden body of six feet, but he had sucked me down too. I wanted to leave through his door, but I was afraid of defiling my true body. I wanted to hurt him, but was persuaded by the Buddhas that hurting a peacock was like hurting my mother, so I left him at the Spirit Mountain and made him the Great Peacock Bodhisattva. The Great Roc and he were born of the same mother, so they had some affinity."
3: He appeared and told you that you had done a good job of giving food, that you were very diligent, that you had been blessed and protected by the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, and that you should continue to work hard so that in the future you could be reborn in the World of Ultimate Bliss.
4. When you pointed your finger at it, it flew down and turned into a person and said to me, "Come with me". ---- This is because you are thinking of going to the Pure Land, and because of your great merit in giving food, the bird can send you directly to the Buddha world. So it is happy to talk to you.
5. When you encounter this situation in the future, you can ask the Great Roc Golden Wing to give you some pointers and enlightenment. Instruct you on how to refine.
6. Your experience shows that giving food is of great merit and is blessed and protected by Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and good deities, which is true. Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha said in the Sutra on the Rescue of Flaming Mouths: "After receiving this food, all are full. All the hungry ghosts and others give up their ghostly bodies and are born in heaven. The good gods of heaven are always there to support them, that is, to satisfy the sandalwood (giving) nectar." The Sutra on the Taste of Manna says, "Hungry ghosts in all ten directions rejoice in food and drink. At that time, all the Buddhas in the ten buddhas praised the practitioner and granted him the bodhicitta. All the bodhisattvas rejoiced and loved, and all the dragons and celestial beings carried out incense and flowers, snuff bottles and all kinds of music. The Buddha's name is "The Buddha". By giving food continuously, you are protected by Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and good deities.
7. Keep on giving food and you will become radiant with Buddha's light. The Buddha's Sutra on Giving Manna to Hungry Ghosts says that those who give food have twenty benefits: "..... The fourth is that the person's ghosts, gods, spirits and monsters are seen as Buddhas. The fifth one whose people are protected by the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, celestial immortals and dragon gods is like an eye essence ......" .

What are the acts of abstaining from killing and releasing
戒杀与放生的行为包括哪些
1. Do not kill a living being with your own hands.
2. Do not abet others to kill.
3. Do not help others to kill.
4. Abstain from eating meat.
5. Do not engage in trades related to killing.
6、Whenever there is worship, regardless of what is being worshipped, use vegetarian dishes, flowers and fruit, not animal gifts.
7. If you see someone killing a human being, you should discourage them or buy the animal to be slaughtered with money and release it. If this does not work, or if the person does not sell the animal, then you should have compassion for the slaughtered animal, and even better if you can recite the Buddha's name or mantra for it.
8. Do not abuse the animal.
9、Other actions that are contrary to killing.
10. Abstain from killing and releasing animals yourself, and advise others to do the same.
