The people are the foundation of the nation; care for the people and the nation is bound to be revitalised.

　  When a country is revitalized, it has to be loved and cared for.

  The people are the foundation of the country.

  Zhuge Changqing said that one truth has been proven throughout the ages, namely, that the people are the foundation of the state, and that a state is bound to be revitalised when it loves the people.

  One day, King Hui of Liang met Mencius, an outstanding thinker and strategist of Confucianism.

  He asked Mencius for advice, saying.

  "How, may I ask, is a state to be governed? The state of Wei, at one time, was known to be strong in the world, as you know, old man. But at my time, I was defeated by Qi in the east, and even my eldest son died; in the west, I lost 700 miles of land to Qin; and in the south, I was insulted by Chu. I am very ashamed of all these things, and wish to avenge the death of all those who have died; what shall I do to do this?"　　 

  Mencius replied, "If you have a hundred miles of land, you can make the world obey you.

  If the king were to administer a benevolent government to the people, remitting penalties, collecting less taxes, ploughing deeply and weeding promptly; and let those who are strong and healthy take time to cultivate the virtues of filial piety, respect, loyalty and trustworthiness, serving their parents and brothers at home and respecting their elders and superiors when they go out, then even if they were to make wooden sticks, they would be able to fight the armies of Qin and Chu who have solid armour and sharp swords and spears.　　　　

  "Why do you say so? Because those rulers of Qin and Chu deprived their common people of productive time, so that they could not work deeply to support their parents. Their parents were starving and their brothers and wives were separated from each other. They have plunged the people into an abyss, and when the king goes to conquer them, who will resist you? Therefore it is said, 'He who administers a benevolent government is invincible to the world.' Your Majesty, please do not doubt!"

  Zhuge Changqing: Mencius' thinking spans time and space and captures the root of history. It is admirable.

 Zhuge Changqing wishes great wealth and good fortune and great blessings to all those who are fortunate enough to honour their parents, to do good deeds, to release their lives and give food, and to donate to the printing of scriptures.

  Amitabha Buddha. Do not do evil and practice all good deeds. Be persistent and answer all your requests.

   Zhuge Changqing wishes prosperity to all those who have the good fortune to honour their parents and do good deeds!

   Blessings to all those who are fortunate enough to receive what they ask for, to be blessed by the heavenly officials, to have their careers soar, and to have their fortunes flourish!

What are the acts of abstaining from killing and releasing

 戒杀与放生的行为包括哪些

 1. Do not kill a living being with your own hands.

　　2. Do not abet others to kill.

　　3. Do not help others to kill.

　　4. Abstain from eating meat.

　　5. Do not engage in trades related to killing.

　　6、Whenever there is worship, regardless of what is being worshipped, use vegetarian dishes, flowers and fruit, not animal gifts.

　　7. If you see someone killing a human being, you should discourage them or buy the animal to be slaughtered with money and release it. If this does not work, or if the person does not sell the animal, then you should have compassion for the slaughtered animal, and even better if you can recite the Buddha's name or mantra for it.

　　8. Do not abuse the animal.

　　9、Other actions that are contrary to killing.

　　10. Abstain from killing and releasing animals yourself, and advise others to do the same. 

   1、不亲手杀生。

　　2、不教唆别人杀生。

　　3、不帮助别人杀生。

　　4、戒除肉食。

　　5、不从事与杀生有关的行业。

　　6、凡有祭拜，不管拜的是什么，一律用素菜、鲜花、水果，不用牲礼。

　　7、见人杀生，应加劝阻，或用钱将临宰之动物买而放之。若劝阻无效，或他不卖，则应对被杀之动物起同情心，若能为它念佛号或往生咒更好。

　　8、不虐待动物。

　　9、其他与杀生行为相反之行为。

　　10、自己戒杀放生，也劝别人戒杀放生。
