Taoist Dharmapala: Wang Lingguan

道教护法神：王灵官

Wang Lingguan, Taoist Dharma Protector. Protect those who do good deeds and accumulate virtue.

----Zhuge Changqing

Many people who are destined to enter the Taoist temple will find a fierce Dharma Protector enshrined in some mountain gates, that is, the Dharma Protector General Wang Lingguan in the Lingguan Hall.

Wang Lingguan is the Taoist Dharma Protector and Mountain God General, similar to Wei Tuo of Buddhism.

Wang Lingguan, also known as Wang Tianjun, has an eye between his forehead and uses an iron whip as a weapon.

He is the Taoist god of guarding the mountain gate, the heavenly general of the Ministry of Thunder, the Ministry of Fire and the Dharmapala.

He has a red face and red beard, wears a red robe of gold armor, a wide open mouth, and an eye on his forehead. Therefore, he is also called the Three-Eyed Spiritual Officer.

He held a copper whip high in his right hand and a wind and fire wheel in his left hand. His image was very powerful and made people feel awed at first sight.

Zhuge Changqing: Wang Lingguan protects people who are filial to their parents and do good deeds.

Wang Ling's official position is the first of the thirty-six Heavenly Kings of the Taoist Dharma Protector, so he is also honored as the "Heavenly Kings"; and because he is the first of the twelve Thunder Clans of the Ministry of Thunder, he is also known as the "Thunder Responds to the Great Heavenly Kings".

Because Wang Lingguan was once awarded the title of "Jade Shuhuo Futian General", and people regarded him as the god of fire, some Lingguan looked like a god of fire, and some Huoshen temples also worshipped Wang Lingguan.

Wang Lingguan is upright, jealous of evil as a foe, pickets the heaven and earth, eliminates evil and dispels evil, and spares no effort.

Someone praised, "Three eyes can see the world's affairs, and one whip wakes up the world."

王灵官，道教护法神。保护行善积德者。

 多有缘者进入道观，会发现有的山门内供奉着一位凶猛的护法，就是灵官殿内的护法神将王灵官。

 王灵官是道教的护法镇山神将，和佛教的韦驮相似。

 王灵官，又称王天君，额间一目，以铁鞭为武器。

 他是道教镇守山门之神，雷部、火部天将及护法神。

他赤面红须，身披金甲红袍，圆睁怒目，大张着嘴，额头上还长着一只眼睛，因此也叫三眼灵官。

 他右手高举铜鞭，左手拿着风火轮，形象十分威猛，让人一看顿生敬畏之心。

 诸葛长青：王灵官护佑孝敬父母、行善积德人。

 王灵官位居道教护法三十六天君之首，因此又被尊称为“王天君”：还因他是雷部十二雷门之首，所以也被称作“雷声应化大天尊”。

 因为王灵官曾被封为“玉枢火府天将”，人们又把他看成是火神，所以有的灵官像就是一副火神的模样，有的火神庙中也供奉着王灵官。

 王灵官刚正不阿，嫉恶如仇，纠察天上人间，除邪祛恶，不遗余力。

 有人赞道、“三眼能观天下事，一鞭惊醒世间人。”
