Caigen Tan said that Jide: a compassionate heart is the chance of life
Only by doing good deeds and accumulating virtue can we live and prosper. To abstain from killing and release life is of great merit.
------Zhuge Changqing
Caigen Tan is a collection of quotations on cultivation, life, life and birth compiled by Taoist Hong Yingming in the early Ming Dynasty. It has the crystallization of the truth of the three religions and the eternal and unchangeable way of teaching people to pass on to the world. It has an uncanny and imperceptible power for people's self-cultivation and moral cultivation.
Its characters are concise, clear and meaningful, and elegant and popular. It is like a quotation, but has interest that the quotation does not have; It is like essay, but it has the neatness that essay can't easily reach; It is like admonition, but there is the kindness and openness that admonition lacks; And there is rain over the mountains, and the sound of the bell at night is still, dotted with it. What it says is clear and fragrant, and the wind and moon are boundless.
Zhuge Changqing believes that this philosophical classic "Caigen Tan" is of great significance to people in all industries. Hong Yingming, with the name of "Sincere" and the name of "Returning to the early Taoist priest", has passed down the "Caigen Tan". According to his other work, The Wonderful Traces of the Immortals and Buddhas, it is known that he was enthusiastic about the official career and fame in his early years, and retired to the mountains and forests in his later years to wash his heart and worship the Buddha. He lived around the Qinhuai River in Nanjing around the thirtieth year of Wanli (1603) and devoted himself to writing. He has contacts with Yuan Huang, Feng Mengzhen and others.
The title of the book "Caigen Tan" is taken from Wang Ge, a scholar of the Song Dynasty, who said, "If one can bite the root of vegetables, everything can be done." It means that one can adapt to the poor life as long as he is strong enough, and whatever he does, he will achieve. In his (inscription) for "Caigen Tan", Ming Yuji further explained: "Tan", named after "Caigen Tan", is rooted in the bitter experience and also from cultivation and irrigation. It can be imagined that it can overcome the storm and prepare for the dangers. " Hong Yingming was also quoted as saying, "Heaven works for me to form, and I escape from my heart to fill it; heaven meets water, and I grasps my way to connect it." Yu's explanation added a layer of meaning, that is, when facing bad luck, a person must strengthen his integrity, work hard, and cultivate and nurture his ideal diligently. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the person who signed the name of Sanshan Sick Man Tongli (reprinted the preface of Cai Geng Tan) said, "Anyone who grows vegetables must cultivate their roots, and their taste is thick." He also cited the old saying of the month, "The nature of the vegetable is fixed, and the root is fragrant." It said that only those who have a simple and quiet mind can understand the purpose of it.
Caigen Tan was written in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of nearly 400 years.
Those who are destined to read this book often to enlighten wisdom.
In many places, Caigentan put forward to do good and accumulate virtue, such as: "a compassionate heart, an opportunity for life", "how happy to cultivate blessings, to kill far disasters"; "Happiness and misfortune are the difference of one thought"; "Fame and wealth come from morality" and so on, reminding people that they should have the confidence to do good, accumulate virtue, and be merciful and abstain from killing.
This is similar to the modern people's advocacy of wildlife protection, but modern people are based on maintaining a good living environment for mankind. There are evil and good in human nature, and we should treat people with compassion, not with calculation as the starting point. Just because there are many people with compassion, there is a warmth in the world.
When the mother eel was thrown into the pot for cooking, she would hold her stomach very high, for the sake of the baby fish.
Although the poor Eel mother already knew that she could not save her child, Eel mother still did so.
It's a great virtue to abstain from killing and release animals.
Zhuge Changqing wishes all the people who are destined to respect their parents, do good deeds and accumulate virtue, and abstain from killing and releasing life rich and auspicious!
