In July 2000, they graduated from the journalism department of Lanzhou University and entered Qilu Evening News. Suddenly, it rained heavily, and several places in the low-lying north of Jinan were flooded. After the rain abated slightly, Zhang Gang and Niu Xiaoling went straight to the waterlogged White Crane Village, the lowest part of the terrain. The hospital failed, and the news on the spot was sent back to the newspaper.

In the eyes of colleagues, Zhang Gang is not a "normal person". "If all evening newspaper reporters are working 'Superman' and overtime 'Superman', Zhang Gang is working 'Madman'. At most, he can write more than a dozen articles a day and send hundreds of articles a month. Don't forget, Zhang Gang is not a hotline reporter, and can't rely on the telephone in the office to find clues. Every article he writes is a word by word in the community. A word of diligence made Zhang Gang knock on the door of community news, and "I need to find Zhang Gang" became the mantra of many community residents.

After a long time, Zhang Gang, who was originally looking for the "manuscript" in the community, had an unexpected harvest - to recognize relatives.

"Lao Niu left on July 1 last year." Zhang Gang's eyes turned red when he said this. Many years ago, during an interview in Zhenxing Street, Huaiyin District, Han Xiuzhi, director of the neighborhood committee, led Zhang Gang into Niu Hanwu's home. Lao Niu became a vegetable because of a car accident. His wife, Zhao Junying, resigned from the position of factory director, serving her husband and making a living by selling steamed stuffed buns. Under the care of Zhao Junying, the old cow miraculously woke up. The long newsletter "True Love Wakes up the Husband of Vegetables" appeared in the newspaper. The readers donated money and sent wheelchairs to Lao Niu's home.

The work is over, but the relationship between Zhang Gang and Lao Niu's family is not broken. When interviewing in the community, Zhang Gang always goes to the old cow's house and pushes the old cow out when he is free. The used old newspapers are also sent to the old cow regularly for him to cut the newspapers for rehabilitation training. His wife, Niu Xiaoling, often followed Zhang Gang to see the old cow, just like relatives. During the festival, the unit sent some fish and bundles of scallions, but he didn't eat them himself and took them to the old cow's house.

His family is not rich, but Zhang Gang is used to helping others at any time. Go to a primary school in Tianqiao District to interview the little swallow who was rescued by the police and help her pay for her living; Go to the First Municipal People's Hospital to interview the injured migrant workers and pay for their medicine. You know, at that time, the 4000 yuan debt he owed when he was in college had not been paid off. His brother and sister in his hometown needed tuition to go to school. His wife, Niu Xiaoling, had just arrived in Jinan and had not found a suitable job for the time being.

Aunt He and Sister Chen of the neighborhood committee, Aunt Luan of the paper-cut, Brother Chen of the Mazar, as well as those who set up stalls, rent, have disabled people, and have special poor families... After 11 years of community running down, Zhang Gang of the northwest has countless "relatives" in Jinan.

Zhang Gang can't tell why so many people trust him. Perhaps the mud and soil on this poor boy in the northwest makes him integrate into the community people as naturally as the dust returns to the soil. Of course, some people said that he was stupid: "Zhang Gang, when someone is a reporter who collects red envelopes and takes carriage and horse fees, you are lucky to pay for everything at your own expense, but also post it upside down. When Zhang Gang started running in the community in 2000, community was still a new concept. What is community news and how to write it? Nobody can tell Zhang Gang.

Zhang Gang immediately found the feeling of community news: the community was full of news, but it could not be written in colloquialism and mandarin. Zhang Gang, who found the knack, became the champion of the press at that time.

Before and after the first draft of the evening paper was issued, Zhang Gang is still vivid. A few days before the Spring Festival, Zhang Gang took over 200 yuan from the department director and a new task: to be a fruit seller for a week and write an experience news.

To sell fruit, you need a tricycle. It was so easy to find a place to rent three wheels, pay the deposit and push it out. Then I remembered that I could not ride. After finding an empty field and practicing for most of the day, I can finally ride a tricycle. The next morning, he got up at 4 o'clock. At 5 o'clock, Zhang Gang came to the fruit wholesale market in Baliqiao with sweat. He thought he got up early, but found it was late. Several kinds of fruits had been sold out. He got up earlier the next day.

Finally, I was able to set up a stall. Unexpectedly, I encountered a problem again: there was no buyer in the remote location, and the better location was occupied by the first comer, and I was immediately driven away if I wanted to take a ride.

In addition to taking notes at night, I lay on the small bed of the rental house and listened to the song of "often go home and watch" on the radio while selling fruit in the daytime, and shed tears. The sound of firecrackers on New Year's Eve sounded like a blast in Zhang Gang's heart.

The feelings and trust of the readers made Zhang Gang understand that the greatest strength of the reporter comes from the pen in his hand and the media behind him. 　　这位答记者问的记者,就是全国优秀新闻工作者、济南市人大代表、齐鲁晚报社区记者张刚。
　　眼前的张刚,板寸头,国字脸,肤色黝黑,操一口带着西北腔的普通话,有着善良的笑容和淳朴的眼神儿。虽然自2006年起,他已习惯了被各级、各类媒体的记者拉着“刨根问底”,可采访中,他说得最多的还是那句话:“真的没什么。”神情就像他家乡甘肃定西高原的黄土一样,坚忍、厚重、诚朴。

　　张刚性格沉稳,你很少听见他高声说话。可泥人也有个土性子,2000年7月从兰州大学新闻系毕业考进齐鲁晚报,报社没按惯例给他“分口”,却让他去跑社区,张刚就没掩饰住心里的失落:心目中的记者,应该是全国各地跑,见大世面,报道大事件。跑社区整天和大爷大妈打交道,既没面子,恐怕也难有什么大出息。
　　尽管并不十分情愿,性情坚忍的张刚还是决定试一试,先跑起来再说。
　　第一次到青年公园街道槐荫广场社区建立联系点,居委会主任何希梅用疑惑的眼光看着他说:“哎哟!多少年了,我们这里从没来过记者,省报记者能到最基层的社区来?不会是走形式吧?”人家的怀疑反倒激起了张刚的犟劲儿:“这社区我还跑定了。”
　　一辆自行车、一张地图、一瓶矿泉水,是张刚跑社区的基本装备,很快,最初联系的槐荫区12个街道办事处、120多个居委会都留下了张刚的足迹。
　　在妻子牛晓玲眼中,张刚是个“错时症”患者:“人家都是8小时工作制,他呢,正好颠倒了,早晨7点出门,晚上十点十一点回来,我和孩子,有时一天和他不照面儿。”
　　为了配合张刚的“错时症”,刚结婚的那几年,牛晓玲双休日的节目就是和张刚一起去采访。牛晓玲印象最深的一次是2003年夏末,张刚骑自行车带着怀孕4个月的她预备去医院做例行检查,突然大雨如注,地势低洼的济南北部有几个地方被水淹了。雨势稍减,张刚带着牛晓玲直奔地势最低洼的被水淹的白鹤庄一带。医院没去成,现场新闻发回了报社。
　　在同事眼中,张刚也非“正常人”。“如果说晚报记者个个都是工作‘超人’,超时的‘超’,张刚就是工作‘狂人’。最多时一天写十几篇稿,一个月发上百篇稿。别忘了,张刚不是热线记者,不能靠在办公室听电话找线索。他的每篇稿子都是到社区一个字一个字用脚跑回来的。不是‘狂人’,根本挺不下来。”张刚的同事董从哲,形容起张刚写稿子来绘声绘色。

　　“老牛去年‘七一’走了。”说这话时张刚眼圈一红。多年前,在槐荫区振兴街采访时,居委会主任韩秀芝把张刚领进了牛汉武的家。老牛因车祸成了植物人,妻子赵俊英辞去厂长的职务,一边侍候丈夫,一边靠卖包子维持生计。在赵俊英的悉心照料下,老牛奇迹般苏醒了。长篇通讯《真爱唤醒植物人丈夫》见报了,读者们给老牛家捐了钱、送来了轮椅。
　　工作结束了,可张刚和老牛家的缘分没有断。到社区采访,张刚总要到老牛家看看,有空就推着老牛出来走走,用过的旧报纸,也定期给老牛送去,让他剪报纸做康复训练。妻子牛晓玲也经常跟着张刚一起去看老牛,就像走亲戚。过节时单位发了点鱼、发了捆葱,他自己不吃,拿到老牛家去了。
　　自己家里并不富裕,张刚却习惯了随时伸手扶别人一把。去天桥区一所小学采访被民警解救的孩子小燕子,帮她垫上生活费；去市立一院采访受伤的民工,给人家垫上药费。要知道,那时的他上大学时欠下的4000元债务尚未还清,老家的弟弟妹妹上学需要学费,妻子牛晓玲刚到济南一时还未找到合适的工作。
　　居委会的何姨、陈大姐,剪纸的栾大娘、做马扎的陈大哥,还有摆小摊的、开出租的,有残疾人,有特困户……十一年社区跑下来,西北人张刚在济南的“亲戚”多得数不清。
　　张刚也说不清,为什么那么多人信任他。也许这个西北穷孩子身上的泥土气,让他融入社区百姓时,就像尘归于土一样自然而然、浑然一体。当然,也有人说他傻:“张刚,有人当记者收红包、拿车马费,你可倒好,啥都自费,还倒贴,图什么?”张刚说:“拿那几个钱富不了,别说别人,连自己都看不起自己；帮这几个钱也穷不了,图个心安。”
　　做什么样的新闻——
　　有什么样的记者,就有什么样的新闻。一如人品支撑作品,作风决定文风。
白描式新闻、体验式新闻:
人在现场,心在现场
　　2000年张刚开始跑社区的时候,社区还是个新概念,什么是社区新闻,社区新闻怎么写?没人能告诉张刚。
　　张刚一头扎进社区,从好人好事写起。可是几篇倒金字塔结构,“五个W”俱全的稿子写出来,却遭到了批评:同事说僵硬,根本不爱看。张刚有点晕,但张刚的执著帮助了他,有事没事都泡在社区,细心观察,耐心体会。几篇白描式的现场新闻一见报,同行称赞,老百姓爱看,张刚一下子找到了社区新闻的感觉:社区满眼是新闻,但不能用套话、官话写,写法不换、角度不换,老百姓没法看。换了,不但能发,还能上头条、评好稿。找到窍门的张刚一跃成为当时的发稿冠军。
　　在晚报发出第一篇重头稿的前前后后,张刚至今历历在目。离春节还有几天了,张刚从部门主任手里接过200元钱,也接过了一个新任务:当一星期水果贩,写篇体验新闻。
　　贩水果,得有辆三轮车。好容易才找到租三轮的地方,交上押金推出来,才想起自己还不会骑。找了个空场,练了大半天,总算能骑着三轮走了。第二天凌晨4点就起床,到5点,张刚满头大汗来到位于八里桥的水果批发市场,本以为起得很早,却发现已经来晚了,好几种水果已经批发完了。第二天他起得更早。
　　终于能出摊了,没想到又遇上了难题:偏僻的位置没买主,稍好的位置都让先到的小贩占了,想搭边儿立刻就被人撵走了。
　　白天出摊卖水果,晚上除了记笔记,就是躺在出租屋的小床上,一边听着收音机里《常回家看看》的歌声,一边流眼泪,除夕的鞭炮声,就像炸响在张刚的心上。
　　一周后,一篇6000多字的体验新闻见报了。很长一段时间,张刚做体验式新闻上了瘾:搬家工、送水工、环卫工、动物饲养员……张刚和底层百姓的距离,报纸和底层百姓的距离,就在这一篇篇报道中越来越近。
介入式新闻、调查式新闻:
入得现场,出得现场
　　对社区的人越来越熟,对社区的事了解越来越深,但一度张刚也很困惑,如何从大爷大妈、路灯井盖的琐事中跳出来?张刚在寻找突破自我的出路。
　　百转千回,张刚还是在基层百姓那里找到了答案。
　　张刚喝过不少酒,最难忘的一杯,是身患癌症的读者于老先生在临终之前,嘱托他楼下的邻居请张刚喝的。
　　此前,因为园林部门在英雄山广场安了个篮球架,恰好在于老楼下紧挨着他的窗户,日夜不停的打球声吵得身体不好的于老无法休息,无奈之下他给张刚写了封信,让张刚帮着协调一下,将篮球架向外移十来米。
　　张刚写了报道,跑了若干趟主管部门,事情解决了,于老打电话给张刚,现在要到青岛看病,等回来一定请他喝酒。过了几个月,张刚突然接到于老邻居谢先生的电话,说于老在病榻上嘱托他,有瓶茅台酒珍藏了十多年舍不得喝,让谢先生一定替他请请小张。
　　喝完这杯发黄的茅台酒,张刚想了很多,这么一点小事,却能让一位癌症患者在临终之际对一个记者念念不忘。读者的这份感情,这份信任,让张刚明白,记者最大的力量来自手中的笔,来自他身后的媒体。他要用这力量,服务民生、服务社会。
   做介入式新闻,张刚连续多年跟踪报道下岗女工胡立华,寻销路、找资金、仓库失火后如何重新站起来,每一篇稿子都直指下岗再就业、创业过程中的难题。做介入式新闻,通过《守着公交站,坐车却犯难》的报道,协调相关部门解决了西周社区周边6000多居民乘公交车要走半小时的难题。
　做调查式新闻,张刚与同事持续追踪泔水猪,连发十多篇报道,直至引起中央高层批示,8部门联手彻底根治泔水猪；做调查式新闻,张刚与同事追问《小巷总理为何流失》、《居委会为何进不了高档社区》、《业主和管家纷争几时休?》,直至这些问题得到了全部或部分解决。
　 新闻记录历史,有时,新闻也引导社会变革、推动历史发展。虽然做的是社区新闻,张刚依然有这样的雄心壮志。
　  做什么样的媒体――
 　媒体是产业,更是新闻舆论阵地,还是社会公器与良知。有什么样的媒体,就塑造什么样的记者,报道什么样的新闻。
   “六字诀”带出一群“小张刚”
  　在山东新闻界,张刚不是一个个体,张刚是一种“现象”。
  　跑社区一年,鉴于张刚在百姓中的影响力越来越大,齐鲁晚报专门开辟了《张刚在您身边》专栏,这是齐鲁晚报创刊以来第一个以记者名字命名的新闻专栏。张刚“社区记者”的大名片也挂进了多个社区。2002年2月,山东省以及济南市新闻界、理论界专门召开“张刚现象理论研讨会”,探讨张刚现象对于媒体践行“三贴近”的意义和推广价值。2003年,张刚当选为济南市人大代表。
　  2004年初,齐鲁晚报成立了“张刚工作室”,从单打独斗到带领一个团队,让张刚倍感责任重大。张刚把自己总结的胡同记者“六字诀”:认准一个“苦”字,落脚一个“民”字,做到一个“实”字,坚持一个“廉”字,突出一个“新”字,咬定一个“学”字,倾囊传授给了工作室的年轻人。一个张刚,带出了一群“小张刚”。
  　2010年9月份正式进入张刚工作室工作的新记者林媛媛,在同事眼中只是个小妹妹,却是实验中学学生陈朕心里最亲的“林姐姐”。陈朕的父亲因病去世,有心脏病的母亲靠打零工维持母子二人的生活。在张刚大篷车的活动中林媛媛结识了母子二人,从此,陈朕家不管有什么困难,“林姐姐”总是在第一时间出现。陈朕说:“林姐姐给我的最重要的东西不是一次又一次的帮助,而是生活的温暖和希望。”
  　入职一年多,林媛媛很快在社区里结下了一群“亲戚”,采石镇的林春祥一家、银丰社区的阎奶奶……
  　和张刚一样,越来越多的齐鲁晚报记者坚信,“新闻是用脚跑出来的”,他们冒着风险去传销巢穴卧底解救被骗的学生,他们顶着风雪去交通不便的小山村访贫问苦,他们克服重重困难为农民工讨回血汗钱。在“足不出户”的新闻越来越多的时代,他们致力于探求真相、传播真知、传递真情。一张世界排名第22位的报纸的影响力,就是张刚这样的记者一个字一个字累积起来的。
  　其实,一家媒体的文化积淀,就像容器之于水一样,塑造着记者们的文化人格、职业品格。
  　2010年记者节,张刚与大众报业集团(齐鲁晚报为大众报业集团旗下子媒体)旗下十几家媒体的青年记者们一起赴创刊地沂水寻根。这一天,又一口由大众报人出资上百万元打下的深井,涌出了甘甜的清流,又有几个村的群众告别了饮用“地窖水”的历史。那天,看着现场的群众有的捧起水喜极而泣,有的感激地扑通一声跪倒在地,张刚的眼睛湿润了:“大众报人与老区人民70多年同呼吸、共命运的历史,让我领悟到,我们与群众的感情,不是同情怜悯,更不是施舍,而是水乳交融、血脉相连。”
   自行车变“大篷车”服务平台升级换代
  　2010年3月7日,一辆特别的“大篷车”徐徐“开”进了济南市七东社区。这一天,齐鲁晚报正式启动了新闻服务社区项目――“张刚大篷车”,张刚服务社区的平台再次升级。
  　从自行车到大篷车,是张刚自我突破的结果,更是齐鲁晚报落实“三贴近”的又一次创新和探索。“以前我们被动服务的时候多,等着老百姓求助。现在,我们能不能主动把新闻服务送到老百姓身边?能不能利用媒体平台,整合社会资源为百姓服务?”
　  精心策划之后,“张刚大篷车”开动了,首站选在了3?15消费者权益保护日到来之前。针对群众反响强烈的食品安全问题,“张刚大篷车”联合济南市工商局商品检测中心的工作人员,来到社区,摆上检测仪器,为市民免费检测食品安全。在家门口给免费检测?这等好事吸引了很多居民,现场排起了长队。
　  “首站”告捷,让“张刚大篷车”团队有了更大的精神头。之后,“张刚大篷车”又连续推出了网购维权大讲堂、免费鉴宝等专题活动,“大篷车”的品牌迅速叫响了。
　  上了“大篷车”的张刚,也从走社区、发掘新闻,变成了整合资源、主动服务。他更忙碌了,策划活动,他要出主意、想办法；活动现场,他是总指挥；哪个环节缺人手,他立刻又成了补岗的小工。
　  活动越搞越大,张刚大篷车开出了济南,开向了聊城、济宁。人气越来越旺,张刚大篷车吸引了一批规模庞大的铁杆“车迷”,每场活动,都有身份各异、年龄千差万别的“车迷”志愿者义务来帮忙。
　  80多岁的闫云禾老人就是一位车迷。“大篷车”的每场活动老人几乎都来参加,“大篷车”栏目组到哪里,他跟到哪里。老闫每次带着相机四处拍照,成了“张刚大篷车”的义务宣传员。他还时常给活动提建议,出点子。
  　越来越多的单位开始主动找上门来。市城管局来了,与“大篷车”一起搞了“蔬菜直销进社区”；市旅游局来了,联合“大篷车”搞一个“助贫祈福”进社区；市政公用局来了,联合“大篷车”进社区解决供水、供暖难题。
  　“现在想联合搞活动得排队了。”张刚语气里满带自豪。目前,“张刚大篷车”与25个职能部门签订了共建协议,未来一两年内,将联合相关职能部门共建100个联系点,走遍全济南400多个社区。源源不断加入的社会力量,让大篷车的服务网越织越大。
　 “张刚大篷车”像一块磁铁,把一批济南市人大代表政协委员、专家学者、爱心志愿者凝聚在一起,形成了一股服务基层、服务百姓的强大力量。
　 “张刚大篷车”更像一座桥梁,在转型社会的复杂局面中,担当起疏通民意、联通上下、构建和谐的责任。
  　其实,“张刚大篷车”只是齐鲁晚报担当社会责任、以新闻服务民众的一个侧面和缩影,但百姓的态度,却为他们需要什么样的媒体做了最好的注脚。在“张刚大篷车”百期座谈会上,热心读者自发给“大篷车”送来件件朴实无华的礼物:年轻读者李燕子送来了一袋自家种的小石榴,一袋小石榴,寄托着一名老师为受到大篷车帮助的孩子们表达的感动；年逾六旬的孟凡模送来了一沓垃圾袋,寄托着他借大篷车之力推行环保的梦想；一位市民送来了一百桶花生油,没留下姓名,只留下一句话:让张刚大篷车送给困难居民过年,我信任你们……更多的读者送来的只是一句嘱托,一条建议,这些是百姓授给“张刚大篷车”最金光闪闪的勋章。
