The Tao Te Ching is full of wisdom and contains the natural laws of life in the universe.
-----Zhuge Changqing
"Tao Te Ching", also known as "Tao Te Ching", "Lao Tzu", "Five Thousand Words" and "Lao Tzu's Five Thousand Essays", is a book written before the separation of various scholars in the pre-Qin period in ancient China.
Tao Te Ching was written by Laozi in the Spring and Autumn Period and is an important source of Taoist philosophy.
Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching", Chuang Tzu's "South China Classic" and Lie Tzu's "Chong Xu Classic", and the "Tao Te Ching" are the three classics of Taoism.
According to Zhuge Changqing's research, Laozi is the founder of Taoism. He came to the world to enlighten the people of the world.
The Tao Te Ching is divided into two chapters. Chapter 37 of the Tao Te Ching comes first, and Chapter 38 is followed by the Tao Te Ching, which is divided into 81 chapters. It is the first complete philosophical work in Chinese history.
The Tao Te Ching is 5000 words long, but full of great wisdom. It contains the secret of human life. If you can read it carefully, you will have an insight and realize a leap in life.
1、 Only if you are modest can you succeed.
Reading through ancient and modern history, all those who have made achievements are modest and prudent.
Many people think about themselves after success, and feel that Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching is good.
Laozi said in the Tao Te Ching----
The reason why Jianghai can be the king of hundreds of valleys is that it can be the king of hundreds of valleys.
If a sage wants to go up to the people, he will go down with words; If you want to precede the people, you must follow them.
It is because saints are not important to the people and not harmful to the people.
It is not tired of being pushed by the world.
No one in the world can compete with it.
This passage means:
The reason why Jianghai can become the place where all rivers converge is because it is good at being in a low place, so it can become the king of all rivers. Therefore, if a sage wants to lead the people, he must show humility to the people in words. If he wants to lead the people, he must put his own interests behind them. Therefore, although the sage of virtue is above the people, the people do not feel heavy burden; Before the people, and the people do not feel victimized. People all over the world are willing to wear it without being tired. Because he does not compete with the people, no one in the world can compete with him.
Lao Tzu is here to enlighten us that we should not only have the broad-minded mind as the river and the sea, but also understand that there are mountains outside the mountains, and everything should be as open as the valley and as broad as the sea. Only tolerance can accept, and low can converge. Only by being generous, inclusive and not competing with others can we get all the resources we need just like rivers and seas collecting rivers of water.
Zhuge Changqing believes that one of the wisdom mysteries that the Tao Te Ching gives us in life is that we should be modest, because the full moon will bring losses, the extremes of things will be reversed, and one yin and one yang. Only modest and prudent, guard against arrogance and rashness, and forge ahead bravely can we achieve breakthroughs and leaps in life.
As the "Qian Gua" praised in the Book of Changes said: "The way of heaven loses and benefits modesty, and the way of earth becomes rich and flows modesty".
The sixty-four hexagrams in the Book of Changes are both good and bad. Only one of them is modest. The six hexagrams are good. It can be seen that modesty and modesty are the only way to achieve success in life.
There are many things in the Tao Te Ching that remind people to be modest and prudent, such as:
1. Lao Tzu said in the Tao Te Ching: "Qu is complete, wrong is straight, hollow is full, open is new, less is gain, more is confusion.".
It means that if wronged, it will be saved, and if wronged, it will be stretched; The low-lying will be filled, and the old will be renewed; If you take less, you will gain; if you take more, you will be confused. Remind people to keep a clear head and be modest.
2. Laozi said in the "Tao Te Ching": enterprises can't stand up, and those who cross can't; The self-seer is unknown; Self-righteous people are not recognized; Self-fellers are reactive; A proud man is not long.
It means: stand on tiptoe to stand high, but can't stand; If you want to go fast, you can't go far. What you have seen will not be revealed; Those who are self-righteous will not be shown; Self-boasting can not build merit; He who is arrogant cannot be the best of all. Remind people to follow the law of heaven.
2、 A success story with an open mind.
Case 1: Confucius humbly worshipped seven-year-old children as teachers.
Zhuge Changqing believed that Confucius' success was closely related to his modesty, prudence and hard work. Confucius modestly put forward that "three people must have my teacher" and learned from all knowledgeable people.
The Three-character Classic once said, "Xi Zhongni and Shi Xiang Tuo" showed that Confucius was a very studious person. At that time, there was a prodigy named Xiang Tuo in the State of Lu, and Confucius learned from him. Great sages like Confucius have not forgotten to be modest and prudent in learning, let alone ordinary people?
Xiang Tuo, a prodigy of the State of Lu in the Spring and Autumn Period, although only seven years old, Confucius still treated him as a teacher, and later respected Xiang Tuo as a saint.
In order to remind himself of "modesty and prudence, guard against arrogance and rashness", Confucius once placed an interjection on the left side of the seat beside him. Q ī Qi) vessel is a kind of water suction vessel used for irrigation in ancient times. It is the creation of ancient working people in production practice in China. There is a wonderful skill of the interjection device: when it is not filled with water, it will lean forward slightly. After a small amount of water is filled, the can body will stand up a little. Once it is filled with water, the can will suddenly overturn, pour out the water, and then automatically recover, waiting for refilling.
Confucius used this instrument to alert himself to his words and deeds and remind him to always be cautious in his words and deeds. "When the moon is full, it will pour, and when the water is full, it will overflow" is really a smart way.
Case 2: Guo Ziyi is modest and prudent to protect wealth
Guo Ziyi, a famous military strategist in the Tang Dynasty, fought in the army all his life and repeatedly made extraordinary achievements. He was the elder of the four dynasties and left the battlefield at the age of 84.
He "has the power to overthrow the country without fear of the government, and the power to cover a generation without doubt", enjoying high prestige and reputation throughout the country. Why did this happen? Guo Ziyi is such a powerful person that he doesn't even have a doorkeeper. Anyone can go to the house to find him. This is the performance of modesty and prudence. It is because of this that no one in the Manchu civil and military dynasties envied him and died.
Zhuge Changqing believed that the doctrine of the Tao Te Ching was to tell the world to follow the principles of morality, be modest and prudent, do good deeds and accumulate virtue, and benefit the society, which was the fundamental purpose of Laozi's education to the world.
Zhuge Changqing recommended that those who have a chance can carefully read the "Tao Te Ching" compiled by Taoist Association President Ren Farong. Taoist Ren Farong practices all the year round, and has a clear interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, which is worth reading.
qī
