The Great Wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: The Three Great Treasures of Peace and Good Fortune《道德经》大智慧:平安吉祥三大法宝

Tao Te Ching, the great wisdom of Taoism. Study and read it in depth and you will come to understand many philosophies of life.

---- Zhuge Changqing

Laozi, the founder of Taoism in China, was a philosopher, thinker, educator and Taoist.

His thoughts have influenced and changed many Chinese and foreigners.

Laozi's work, the Tao Te Ching, has been translated into various national languages and is popular worldwide.

Laozi is Li Er (李耳), known as Dan (聃). A Han Chinese, native of Qurenli, Lixiang, Bitter County, Chu, he lived between about 571 and 471 BC. He was a great philosopher and thinker in ancient China, the founder of the Taoist school, and in Taoism Laozi is revered as a Taoist ancestor. He was posthumously recognized as the founder of the Li surname by the emperor of the Tang Dynasty.

According to Zhuge Changqing's research, Laozi was originally the spirit of the Supreme Lord Lao who came down to earth to enlighten people's hearts.

Laozi's work, the Tao Te Ching, also known as the Tao Te Ching, Laozi, the Five Thousand Words, and the Five Thousand Writings of Laozi, was a work of ancient China before the division of the pre-Qin sons, and was commonly admired by the sons of his time.

The essence of his work is the simple method of discernment, which advocates following the Way of Heaven and practising goodness and virtue.

Its doctrine had a profound influence on the development of Chinese philosophy. It is an important source of Taoist philosophical thought.

The Tao Te Ching is divided into two chapters, the original upper part, the De Jing, and the lower part, the Tao Te Ching, which are not divided into chapters, but later changed to the Tao Te Ching with chapter 37 in front and the De Jing after chapter 38, and divided into 81 chapters. It is the first complete philosophical work in Chinese history.

Zhuge Changqing: The story of the "Purple Qi coming from the East" is related to Laozi's writing of the Tao Te Ching.

The story goes that before Laozi crossed the Hangu Pass, Yin Xi, the chief of the Hangu Pass and a practitioner, saw a purple qi coming from the east and knew that a sage was about to cross the pass. So he arranged for his men to clear the road to meet him, and sure enough Laozi came on a green bull. This is a metaphor for an auspicious sign. Later, Laozi accepted Yin Xi as his disciple and wrote the Tao Te Ching and passed it on to him. Yin Xi later attained immortality.

According to Zhuge Changqing's research, the Tao Te Ching, contains great wisdom because it is the crystallization of Laozi's lifelong wisdom. It contains the wisdom treasures of Laozi's life of propagating the Dharma.

In those days, many people visited Laozi specifically to ask for wisdom on life.

Many of them repeatedly asked one question: How can one live a peaceful and auspicious life and live a long and healthy life?

Lao Tzu then enlightened them one by one, telling them three treasures of dharma that are in line with the heavenly path.

One is to be compassionate and do more good deeds, two is to be diligent and thrifty and not wasteful, and three is to be humble and prudent and not proud.

Heaven will always protect those who are compassionate and do good deeds.

Many people took note of this and went away thankful.

Lao Tzu later pondered that this was a key point of concern for the fate of the very community and needed to be written into the Tao Te Ching.

Thus, it became the three treasures in Laozi's Tao Te Ching.

In the Tao Te Ching Lao Tzu said.

I have three treasures that I hold and protect.

One is compassion, the other is frugality, and the third is not daring to be the first in the world.

If you are kind, you can be brave; if you are frugal, you can be broad; if you do not dare to be the first in the world, you can be long.

Now, if you sacrifice kindness and courage, if you sacrifice frugality and breadth, if you sacrifice the latter and the first, you are dead!

If you are merciful, you will be victorious in battle, and you will be strong with your code. When Heaven will save, it will defend with compassion.

Laozi compassionately wrote these essentials into the Tao Te Ching, telling future generations to do more good deeds, to be thrifty and not to be proud. It is a pity that most of the later generations did not pay attention to them. One can carefully epiphany the heavenly truths therein.

According to Zhuge Changqing's research, the most important thing as far as Taoism is concerned is not the spells and daoist arts, but to do good deeds and accumulate virtue in order to follow the heavenly path. This is the fundamental purpose of Lao Tzu, who wrote the Tao Te Ching to educate his descendants.

This is also the reason why Lao Tzu named his wisdom crystallisation as the Tao Te Ching.

Zhuge Changqing recommends that those who are fortunate enough to read the Tao Te Ching, compiled by Taoist Association President Ren Fayong, should do so carefully. Taoist Master Ren Farong has been practising for many years and has a correct explanation of the Tao Te Ching that is worth reading.

Amitabha Buddha. Do not do evil and practice all good deeds. Persevere and respond to all requests.

What are the acts of abstaining from killing and releasing

 戒杀与放生的行为包括哪些

 1. Do not kill a living being with your own hands.

  2. Do not abet others to kill.

  3. Do not help others to kill.

  4. Abstain from eating meat.

  5. Do not engage in trades related to killing.

6Whenever there is worship, regardless of what is being worshipped, use vegetarian dishes, flowers and fruit, not animal gifts.

  7. If you see someone killing a human being, you should discourage them or buy the animal to be slaughtered with money and release it. If this does not work, or if the person does not sell the animal, then you should have compassion for the slaughtered animal, and even better if you can recite the Buddha's name or mantra for it.

  8. Do not abuse the animal.

9Other actions that are contrary to killing.

  10. Abstain from killing and releasing animals yourself, and advise others to do the same.
